Re: THE GAME

UAB has a couple of Athletes, but they aren't much more than a mediocre team this year. Their favorable schedule is what landed them the opportunity to get crushed by our Mountaineers. We are better than them on ALL fronts. If our guys come out playing as inspired football as I think they will, this...

Re: FB Coaching Roster Changes? Not so many as of 1 PM Friday

Ted Roof did our defensive guys wrong this year. The stats are there to overwhelmingly prove it. End of story. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/appalachian-state/2018.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/appalachian-state/2019.html The stats speak for themselves. No reason ...

Re: 4:30 PM Presser to Introduce Head Football Coach

Another thing that got me: when Shawn looked directly in the camera and said something to the effect of "to my teammates; I am going to get in touch with you". It just speaks volumes about him, he knows this isn't about him it's about us. And man alive does he think something of Coach Moore? The co...

Re: Bowl Game rankings by Entertainment...conspiracy

How the heck does the LendingTree (Mobile) Bowl end up with a payout nearly twice as large as the New Orleans Bowl? I get that the corporate title sponsor plays a part, but payout is what many use as a rule of thumb when judging bowl "prestige". One would think the Sun Belt would want their premier...

Re: 4:30 PM Presser to Introduce Head Football Coach

Love seeing this https://mobile.twitter.com/CoachSattUofL/status/1205627891914092544 I know he's a former player but is he a really big guy or is DG on the short side? It's like when they introduced him, he was so tall you only saw his chest. If it's the former I pity the ref who makes a lousy call...

Re: 4:30 PM Presser to Introduce Head Football Coach

Great day to be a mountaineer. My wife and feeling the same emotions Coach! Cried at my wedding, my son being born, my daughter being born, and when a true Mountaineer was being named Head Coach at our Alma mater. It wasn't just me who wanted him to throw in "sandpaper that ass" at some point, right?

Man I am gonna miss the beignets... I could eat my weight in those. Y’all eat some for me.
Against my better judgement, I promise to eat 2 grown man’s share worth of beignets.

Re: One last Drink post..I promise

Well, he is dead to me. As far as I’m concerned, I’d be good with not hearing his name again now that Clark is here. Drinkwitz will more than likely disappear into irrelevance like any other SEC East coach not wearing Red or Blue. Thank you for your $800k donation to Appalachian athletics and remind...

Re: Where to eat New Orleans

If I drank a hand grenade for every tourist trap mentioned in this thread I'd be absolutely wasted. Willies is definitely a touristy spot, but that doesn’t discount the quality of their their chicken. Same as Cafe Du Monde (not for chicken of course) Correct. I could drink that coffee (black of cou...

Re: OFFICIAL: SHAWN CLARK HC

Any chance that this hire and keeping DG has any influence on Darrynton’s decision to leave early? Apparently the whole Darrynton thing is just Darrynton being Darrynton. He just talks outwardly about everything and that’s how it started circulating. Many think he doesn’t actually plan on leaving u...

Re: Where to eat New Orleans

I feel like Willie’s needs more love on this thread. Sure there are lots of places for a great lunch or dinner, but can you go to those when it’s 1 am and you want something to soak up the hurricanes (while also ordering another hurricane)? Willies Chicken is unreal. Flavor and tenderness is ...

Re: Who stays, who goes?

I am pretty certain that DG is staying. But until next Wednesday when Cincy is set to announce their new AD, nothing is certain. I emailed Doug and thanked him for staying, he responded with “of course” and went on to say we have to keep this thing rolling and encouraged me to get folks to donate t...

Re: OFFICIAL: SHAWN CLARK HC

And I think DE will be back as well. Hopefully he won't make the same mistake as Duck. I mentioned it on another post, but I was inquiring about the Evans/NFL thing and him talking about and looking into his draft stock is just the type of guy he is. They suggested that even though he was doing tha...

Re: OFFICIAL: SHAWN CLARK HC

I'm predicting a huge game for Zach Thomas in New Orleans. He just got the Most Outstanding Christmas Present of a lifetime. He's been freed from the chains Drink placed on him this year. We'll see the real ZT return in New Orleans after Shawn Clark lets him play, and the Most Outstanding Christmas...

Re: Who stays, who goes?

Ok. Quick update: started getting some messages back tonight and sounds like all is good for Clark to be named for tomorrow. No hiccups. I'm thinking DG may be the only thing still fluid. Hearing that Clark is taking his time with the staff picks, we probably won't hear much until after the Bowl ga...

Re: Where to eat New Orleans

Willies Chicken Shack Cafe Du Monde. Love the coffee and Beignets. My kids looked like Tony Montana, powder sugar all over their faces, licking the plates. We ate there 3-4 times in 48 hours. If you go back try Cafe Beignets ... you can thank me later! Like I said I looked I had been doing lines of...
