Re: Depth

Eight ASU players made their first start: Tight end Drew Bailey (sophomore), receiver Simms McElfresh (redshirt freshman), guard Shaw Counts (redshirt freshman), tackle Regan Dufort (junior), running back Rod Chisholm (senior), defensive end Davante Harris (redshirt freshman), nose tackle Stephen Bu...

Re: Positives

On every other "kickoff" we put it deep into endzone and they fair caught it. On the one that returned we intentionally (Moore even said it in quote) that we kicked it short because he thought it was into wind. Given their Hardy's abilities on returning it, it would have been wise to kick it as deep...

Re: Depth

Here is latest from WS Journal on injuries.

Running back Rod Chisholm had surgery today to repair a broken bone in his hand. He is expected to be out four to six weeks. Cornerback Doug Middleton, who injured an ankle, was to be evaluated further before a timeframe for his return is announced.

Re: Depth

What is the total injury picture at this point? I heard Chisholm was broken hand and Middleton was ankle, possibly broken.

I know we have three suspended for one more game.

Does anyone know specifics on injuries and are there others?

Re: Savannah State

I am sure none of the OU fans had any reservations about playing Savannah St either. ;)

The big difference is they play a tough Big 12 schedule that more than makes up for the drop to their strength of schedule as a result of playing one of the weakest teams in D1 football.

Re: Sincere appreciation from ASU66

Great News! You should be back in prime form just in time to see some great football this year. The team has been working very hard during offseason to make you proud.

Re: Positives

I saw some very good signs. We have a very talented foundation for a great team. Remember (I have to remind myself) that this is a very young team. We put up a lot of yards and did well defensively overall. We made some very costly mistakes that showed in the score. We should expect that this team w...

Re: Need your help on Fox vs. Armanti

On money point, what is huge when you are talking about a coaches salary/bonus? That is small potatoes relative to entire team payroll. You are talking about pissing away a full season by keeping him if you know you are going to fire him anyway. On other hand, I agree that NFL was headed towards loc...

Re: Big East Adding a 14th school

I don't know why people keep saying Georgia Southern is going to be in some FBS conference anytime soon. The top leadership has clearly stated they are not in a position to make a move anytime soon. Sounds like at least 5-10 yrs out. Basically they do not have the financial resources/backing to get ...

Re: Need your help on Fox vs. Armanti

In the NFL, it is simple, if JR didn't like what JF was doing then he should have fired him sooner. Most owners/GMs don't play around when it comes to dissent from coaches. JF did what he wanted the last year and it was clear it deviated from mgmt. That is why he is no longer coach. As I said early ...

Kimbrough: We're ready to play

"We need to come out and start fast," Kimbrough said. "I can see a big difference in this year's team compared to last year's team. You can feel a different vibe. I think we're more focused, more dedicated and we're ready to play." Sounds like these guys want to prove something in the ECU game. I li...

We need to hit him a few times like the one we put on Chad Henne from blind side. Will Rio step up or wilt after a few shots like that?

Don't make me like him too much until after Saturday. I will love him much more after we win 42-21.

BTW, great personal story. It is refreshing to hear the simple pleasures of life.

Re: App Football 1937

We should have moved up to NCAA D1 at that time since transportation (rail service) in and out of Boone was state of the art in 1937. Obviously we have gone downhill since then and do not have the luxuries of modern transportation in/out of Boone.

BTW, great video quality for 1937.
