Re: NCAA places three-year moratorium on new bowls
Makes sense after so many 5-7 teams ended up bowling last season. There were three 5-7 teams that made bowl games last year and they were selected by APR. 2014 had 81 FBS teams with six wins and 76 bowl spots. 2015 had 77 FBS teams with six wins and 80 bowl spots. However, existing bowl games can m...

The last two days were the first late-inning blown leads this season.
They're getting closer to winning.

Re: The SEC Gets It's Way-And it Stings
I'm sure recruits will be excited by the new lecture series hosted by volunteer Scott Satterfield. And the lecture will be in the middle of a big, flat field that happens to have cones set up around it.

Re: The SEC Gets It's Way-And it Stings
It was an FYI. I found out that every time something bad happens to the Sun Belt, people blame Karl Benson.

The D1 Council voted on this. The Sun Belt rep is Texas State AD Larry Teis, not Karl Benson.

They do. But this was an easier way of saying "we're not playing App anymore".Yosef84 wrote:but I would think they know that no FBS program in the country is going to play at an FCS school in football.

Because Western's AD only will continue to schedule App if it was a home and home and I'd like to have our players with functioning knees, which couldn't happen after playing Elon.mtd Security wrote:You want these games???? really??? Well then --- Why not Western Carolina or Elon

Re: Old Watauga High School lot has been discussed
Gillin has said his athletics master plan will be released in the next six months, so for him to say it's not happening and possibly change his tune later on would be eye-opening .' I have no idea what the town is thinking with the land and I don't even think they know. The only real possible buyer...

I'm not that excited about Gardner-Webb but I'm fine with ETSU. Plus the games can be moved if something pops up.

Parthenon closing May 7th
Parthenon, a staple of the trailer bars next to campus, is closing for good on Saturday, May 14th. I knew it wasn't good when they had to close on select Saturday nights to be in compliance (80/20 laws) but to see it go before 9-lives Klondike is amazing.
I'm sure feelings will be mixed on this one.

Re: Cost of Attendance Announced
This info is subject to change as school are finding ways to budget more money toward FCOA. Some schools might have plans that aren't public. I decided not to FOIA the entire Sun Belt, especially with Georgia's new laws that would have cost of hundreds of dollars. So this is based off articles, mess...

I hate the idea that we should decrease an emphasis on athletics to help other areas. Why not use each to elevate the other? You can have your cake and eat it.

With the recent BOT meeting, the previous BOT meeting has been released. http://chancellor.appstate.edu/bot/_documents/board-of-trustees-minutes-2016-01-29-conference-call.pdf Gillin didn't mess around with a one or two year contract like Olympic sports coaches normally get.
