Re: Recruiting, 2013
Rivals.com is reporting that high three-star DB Anthony Covington (5-11, 185) of Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte has committed to Appalachian State. Covington committed to Pitt in September but decommitted a month later. He holds offers from more than a dozen FBS programs. Highlights: http:/...

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Mountaineer Illustrated posted a story about a commitment App picked up today.
6'2 205 LB/S Rashaad Townes from Macon Ga.
Was being recruited by Furman, Ga. Southern, UTC and MTSU. Apparently Huesman went to his school to visit after he committed to us to try and sway him, but to no avail

Re: #14 Just thinking ahead?
Looking at the roster, no one has 23, 32 or 38. I assume those are the only ones that are retired (not sure what Larry Hand's # is).
I like the ring of honor idea better since you could potentially have multiple great players using the same # before it would be retired

Re: Illinois State
Unfortunately I think that we are still not allowed to play the bells during the playoffs. Seems like a silly rule to me but there are other weirder ones in every sport. Hasn't stopped them in the past. They're not supposed to play the entrance video either, but they have since 2007. I think 2005 a...

Re: Good Luck App State!
Was rooting hard for you guys vs Montana State last Saturday! I still remember how their players and coach handled themselves when they came to Boone for their playoff whooping.... As soon as Montana State was talked about for playoff seeding I was thinking about the wide receiver on MSU that kept ...

Re: Singleton Shot in Charlotte:
Coach Moore quoted in the Charlotte Observer saying he visited him today and Tashion is in good spirits. Sounds like he came out of it OK, considering the circumstances

Re: Gentlemen: Start your Playoff Beards!
Got mine growing. Started in 2005 as well. Shaved in 2008 because I had just started a job after college, and well, we know how 2008 ended. I felt like I had cursed the playoffs

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Kaliff Phillips has qualified! I do not go out on many limbs but I will here. This kid is a difference maker! 29 years in Kannapolis, 35 plus years watching ALB football he is in the top two running backs we have ever had. He and Tracy Johnson Clemson--Atlanta Falcons--NFL are the two best. I think...

Re: What happens if Citadel beats Furman this weekend?
Samford beat Citadel, so i believe they would win the tie-breaker for that spot. Mr. C posted on AGS that last weekend, they (media) pulled out the SoCon tie-breaker rules in the box at Paulson Stadium and he believes that Samford winning this past weekend gives App the auto-bid since Samford is goi...
