Re: We HATE them.. but we sure love the rivalry. A bell, a jug, or cup?

How about we just settle on the Sun Belt trophy or nothing? That worked last year. For many years prior the SoCon trophy was usually the prize that went to the winner. That's a real rivalry that ain't broke and needs no fixin.

I don't view that as our role whether we could do it or not. I assume you feel the same way.

Re: G5 rankings

To me, and I may be wrong and get attacked for this comment...Having G5 rankings is a form of already splitting the FBS...aka putting us in a lower division...I feel this is inevitable and will occur soon anyways, but for now let's just enjoy being a part of FBS rather than split ourselves. There i...

I like the work he is doing with those rankings. Clearly some around here suffer from mine is just a big as yours syndrome.

Re: Woody Dialing Defense in... W-S Journal

“If we get up on somebody to where we feel good about the momentum being in our favor, then I won’t put something on film so that people don’t see it for the next game, or a game down the road,” he said. “If we need something to stop somebody and the game is close, then I’ll call anything we’ve got...

Re: Shawn Elliott article

BWN retweeted someone who speculated that Elliott could be a candidate for Georgia State after the season. No idea whether he'd be interested. That seems like a job you take if you think it's the only way you'll ever get a HC opportunity. No kidding. Even Shawn Elliot doesn't have enough energy to ...

Re: Future Schedule

I'd also like to see those FCS games be in state teams so that we may be able to curry some political favor out of it for the university's sake. As much as I would like to think it might, I don't think playing NC A&T is going to move the needle for favors. If we have to play FCS games I would rathe...

Re: Shawn Elliott article

Watching the press conference reminded how shifty these types of folks can be. Spurrier denied making any suggestion other than recommending the AD pick an interim from his staff. Like they really had any other choice at this point in the season. Their AD claimed he alone picked Shawn after an eveni...

Re: Shawn Elliott article

Thanks for posting the link. My take on Coach Moore's comment about the timing of the announcement leads me to believe this is exactly what Spurrier wanted. If he had announced and made it effective after the season Shawn may have never gotten the consideration he now has a better chance of getting.

Re: Future Schedule

The point is, the strength of the SunBelt is doing us zero favors. It might have done us some favors in the W column over the last 11 games, and perhaps will do some with regard to bowl eligibility this season. Otherwise it's shaping up to be a lot like the old SoCon power 3 with one unfamiliar nam...

I like this series and I think it is worthwhile and well-written. One observation I will make is that the phrase "I’ll be honest with you" should never be uttered or typed.

Re: Satterfield Extension

There will always be limits on how much we can pay. Our limits will always be far below the limits of some if not all of the P5 programs. Our only option is to pay as much as we reasonably can and hope retain our talent as long as possible. We lost Mack Brown, Sparky Woods and numerous assistants ov...

OK, I was not a math major but I think this means he makes $525K in 2016, $550K if he stays through 2017, and $25K more for each year thereafter as long as he completes the season.

Re: Injury Report

While Upshaw would be missed greatly if he indeed misses the game, my concern in on the left side of the O-Line. With Collins doubtful and Harris questionable, can they effectively run the ball to the left? Need the backup Hog Mollies to step up and protect/create holes. Maybe it's just my oversigh...

Re: Sunday Reflections

I agree, there is a vicious cycle among many on this board, and I suspect on many boards across the country that people like to point out the flaws of the QB after a loss or a closer than expected win. Last year after the Michigan game, people wanted Lamb to start because he gave us the best chance...

Re: IMG Contract

I have to agree that Molly is not improving in her role as the IMG whatever during football game broadcasts. She still sounds lost and unfamiliar with the sport in general. There have been others that did a much better job in the same or similar capacity. I believe they were also APP grads, so that ...
