Re: The incredible shrinking future of college

Those earnings numbers are very telling and interesting. I've always believed that a majority of college in general is a waste and a racket. For years the mantra has been to make a person "well rounded ". That's a load of BS. Assuming that an 18 year old graduates high school and is proficient at r...

Don't know if it's legit as I'm listed in the same seats as last season and I requested to be moved.
Same here. I called the ticket office this am and was told they expect to have seats assigned in early May for those that asked to be moved. She said I would be notified via email.

Re: Pensacola

A Florida city makes sense for a March tournament but you must acknowledge, Sun Belt BB fans don't show up for games in their own gym (except Marshall). The biggest issue with Pensacola is the lack of direct flights for those that live further than a 6-hour car ride. Tampa would be better. Pensacola...

Re: Spring Ball

To me, it seems, App refuses to get involved in much of the NIL. Which is fine, but will be a hindrance if it takes years for the NCAA to reign in. Technically speaking, App can’t get involved in NIL outside of speaking in generalities and working with donors to promote the need. The reality is tha...

Re: Rules Changes to Shorten CFB Games?

Last year's 63-61 game against UNC and the Troy Hail Mary victory would not happen under the proposed rules. The only rule I would adopt from the NFL is the Down by Contact rule. I hate seeing a player's knee touch the turf catching a punt or someone slip with no one within 5 yards and being called ...

UNC- Accreditor at odds with Board of Trustees.

Interesting WSJ Op/Ed on UNC's plan to create the new School of Civic Life and Leadership without the blessing of the faculty. I tend to side with the BoT on this one. Former University of Chicago President Hanna Holborn Gray once said that a school of higher learning “should not be intended to make...

Re: UNC Governance

Should start with the UNC Board of Governors. Less UNC and more everyone else.... We do have an App alum on the board. He and I shared an apartment in the early-mid 80s (Mountaineer Apts). Have not talked to him since he graduated in 1985. His term ends this year. https://www.northcarolina.edu/apps...

Re: Steve Wilks named Panthers HC

Here's an interesting article from 2018 about walk-ons being predominantly white. While it is specifically about basketball, it probably carries over to football. Many of the walk-ons become coaches or management within athletic departments or professional teams. It suggests this may be a reason the...

Re: Defensive Coordinator

I can completely understand the wait if we are hiring Glenn Schumann. He has had his hands full for the last 1.5 months. Can we afford Schumann (or anyone at a P5 school)? He's knocking down $800k at UGa. It's frustrating enough that the P5s are getting their pick of the on-field talent, but the sa...

Re: Way too early Top 25

Most teams sitting around .500 can do the what-if game. what if 6-7 plays were completed better etc...etc...we could be 9-3 or 10-2, blah blah. At the end of the season, none of that matters. We lost. Trying to backtrack with the what-if games is along the same lines as people claiming their team c...
