Re: Paint the track black?
I think best is to build a 10 to 15 foot wide terrace in front of both east and west stands to allow standing room and for students to travel along sidelines. Visually it would look great. It would allow an extra several hundred or more students in the West side students sections and reduce the bot...

Re: Paint the track black?
I was in Boise last Fall for work and was able to get into the Boise State stadium. If you've not seen the evolution of their stadium it's worth a quick Wikipedia search. They're very much our "western cousin". While they've done a lot of great work to their stadium, its not something we should emu...

Re: Old WHS site has been sold to ASU
Great news! My two request. #1 When they remove the track, re-grade the hill to bring those fans as close to the end zone as possible. #2 If you can't dig the field down to bring the stands closer, at least add a few rows. This combined with the north project will help improve the intimacy of the st...

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
Isn't any statement about fans a generalization? - not every fan at GaSo is a jerk --- you ever been there? No. You can comment on a fan base and not use broad strokes in the process. Your comments seemed to lump all UNC fans into one category. Using phrases like some, not all, and at times, would ...

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
I have attended numerous games at Kenan and the DeanDome over the years and I have really never seen any big problems. I still say they have the worst fans in the country but not because of their actions toward their opponents - (Unlike GaSo where I have been once and will never go back) - No, the ...

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
My older brother is a UNC grad and when he heard they were likely playing App in Football he wasn't too thrilled. His comment was that he was glad the game wasn't this coming season as he would expect App to kick them aside. It will be fun for us to attend the games together, especially if App wins...

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
At all our P5 games to date I've always been treated well by the opposing fans. Mostly respectful, maybe slightly condescending but not so much that it was offensive. And I've been respectful to their fans, enjoyed good football conversations and usually end up pulling for their team for the rest o...

The remaining games are all winnable. It will be interesting to see how they finish after these two big wins.

No doubt. We've hosted one P5. Being selective is not a luxury we have. I think we would agree to a H&H with any P5 right now, as we should.AppinVA wrote:I don't care what P5 plays in Boone. It could be Arizona State for the right to use ASU, for all I care. A P5 in your house is a P5 in your house.

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
Gillin needs to get Missouri on the phone! No thanks on Missouri. Look to stay within our recruiting footprint unless we can snag a truly remarkable name brand school that falls outside that range. If this deal gets inked with the Thrill, he should be calling Duke and State! I usually agree with yo...

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
I really feel like these negotiations start as a cliche: "You'll never know until you ask". App has an AD that will ask, meanwhile Georgia Southern is replacing Kent State with NMSU. I can not wait to see the meltdown that occurs on their board when this gets announced. I keep an eye on it every ti...

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
Anybody that thinks our bowl games are meaningless should think again. We are building a brand, and our bowl success has to be playing a big part in our OCC scheduling victories.

This is the third rendering I've seen. All three are a little different, but feature the same concept. I would not get worked up on the details at this stage. Be excited that it's in motion, and donate!! If you visit this page regularly, you should be a member of the Yosef Club. Get on board.

Re: 19,000 season ticket holders 75% of capacity at Montana. We can be this too.
Of the 25,377 fans on average that attended each Griz home game, nearly 19,000 of those were season ticket holders, almost 75 percent of the stadium's capacity. That's more season ticket holders than the combined populations of Montana's ninth and eleventh most populous towns, Miles City and Living...

Hard to choose. Best Cellar, Gamekeeper, Twigs, Bistro Roca. One that we've recently discovered is The Table at Crestwood. Great food with one of the better views in the area.
