He also forced a fumble but was called for illegal helmet lowering from a 200 lbs 5'11 guy into a 6'5 250 lb guy.

Wow, that's crazy. I'd have to 100% agree with everyone saying it's a terrible call. Nothing dirty, the TE saw him coming and braced himself while also lowering his upper body. Howard intended to tackle his waist and legs. I see nothing wrong with that play. The good news is that the team is not likely to hold that play against him in any way.

Steve Wilks is their coach. As an App State guy, I doubt Howard is going anywhere. By all indications, he is the second option at either safety position at this point.

Good way for the defensive player to get a spinal injury.

I saw the replay and have to say, that was a bad call regardless of the way the rule is defined. Howard appeared to be attempting to make a legal tackle with his shoulders at waist/thigh level. TE turned after reception and altered his position to defend tackle. If this becomes illegal then they might as well play flag football.

Jim Rome had him on his radio show either yesterday or today. A.J. gave a great interview and sounded like a veteran. Made quite the impression on Rome. Would post the link but having difficulty with my phone. Worth trying to find though.

This is the type of interview that boosts my pride in being a part of App Nation! AJ will do well. You could tell that Rome was impressed with this young man.

Rome is a colossal douche, but he is probably the best interviewer in the business.

AJ did a great job in that interview! I'm proud to be part of his App state family.

Last Cardinals 53 man roster projection has him making it as the 5th safety.

The point I was making is that he is doing well enough to earn a roster spot. The fact that Wilks is an App State guy, combined with AJ's talent, likely earns him some extra eyes.
