I got the below announcement from All American Jersey (Hickory NC) on Facebook.
All-American Jersey is pleased to announce that Armanti Edwards, wide reciever for the Carolina Panthers, will be doing an autograph session at our store on Jan. 26th! Buy an item from us to get signed and the autograph will be free, or bring your own item and pay $20. Can't make it the day of the signing? Don't worry. You can come in advance. We will get the item signed and have it waiting for you after the event. Come out and join us on this exciting day!

Might have to go to this on Saturday. I hate lines and crowds, but for The Greatest App Ever, I'd do it.

I am sure Armanti isn't doing this for free. They pay him to come in to sign autographs solely to drive sales.

I don't have any problem at all paying the $20 if the money is going to a cause or a fundraising event. I'm pretty sure he isn't charging, but the sporting store is.

Why wouldn't he be charging? The store is basically paying him to bring people through the door so they can make more money, so if I'm correct, the $20 will go towards paying AE's fee, and they're hoping the profit from sales is making up the difference.

If someone told you they'd pay you $5,000 to come hang out for 2 hrs and sign a bunch of autographs, are you saying you'd say no? It's not like AE is making millions. He's making 3rd round money in the NFL. In comparison to the rest of us, that's a lot. But why fault him for trying to make the most he can while he can? I hate it, but he probably won't be playing in the NFL in 2 years. Some of you guys need to lighten up.
I'll be there and will gladly either buy something or pay $20. I'm going to get a picture of my kids with Armanti so I can show them someday "see, this is the greatest player I ever saw."

Just called All American Jersey in Granite Falls. Armanti is still coming today. I was not sure because of the bad weather we had yesterday.
