How much have Apps made in the last 20 years?

Unread post by appdaze » Thu Jun 25, 2020 2:29 pm

Total earnings in the NFL for our last 20 years players who actually made some money. This includes signing bonuses, roster bonuses, etc...

Dexter Coakley--10 seasons--I stopped with him because its hard to find anything pre-2000. I estimate his total earnings betweeo $18-22 million because he didn't get to really cash in until that last contract.

Dexter Jackson 1 season ?? Not sure how much of his he got paid.
Corey Lynch 6 seasons $2,936,782
Armanti Edwards 4 seasons $2,209,135
Mark Legree 2 seasons $275,432
Daniel Kilgore 9 seasons $15,337,754----Active FA
D.J. Smith 4 seasons $1,037,313
Brian Quick 8 seasons $8,535,524
Sam Martin 7 seasons $11,922,905----Active--Broncos--if he makes if through his 3 year deal then 10 seasons $18,972,905
Demetrius McCray 4 seasons $1,786,163
Ronald Blair 4 seasons $2,527,103----Active San Francisco--He has 1 more year on his contract. $4,824,603 after his 5th season. He needs to stay healthy. Seasons 5 doubles his total.
Colby Gossett 2 seasons $666,852----Active Cleveland--He has 1 more year on his contract. $1,341,852 after 3 seasons.
Darrynton Evans 0 seasons----Active Titans--Signed through 2020-2024, 2024 UFA
Akeem Davis-Gaither 0 seasons----Active Bengals--Signed through 2020-2024, 2024 UFA

Not including Coakley or future unearned money in contracts App players have made $47,234,963 in the last 20 years in the NFL only. I have no idea what anyone had made in other countries. I would guess when you add other leagues or other countries it would be around $55 million.

And this kind of talent is why we have been able to build a top 25 program. It's also kind of funny that our highest career earner will be a punter when he is done playing. Kilgore is done with bigger contracts. He might get 2 more one year deals but I think he is about done. If Blair has a good season he has a chance to snap up a 3 year 10 mil contract or more.

Please add more if you know of them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_A ... _NFL_Draft

Good info. How about Dino Hackett, Daniel Wilcox, Travaris Cadet & Kendall Lamm? All were/are in the league a number of years.

Good catch I can't believe I forgot the last three. Its hard to find the older guys pre 2000 ish.

Travari Cadet 7 seasons $4,051,944
Kendall Lamm 5 seasons $4,203,947----Active Cleveland--He has 1 seasons left on his contract. Will be $6,553,947 at the end of 6 seasons.
Daniel Wilcox 5 seasons $3,425,000

That brings our last 20 ish year earnings to $58,915,854‬ with an educated guess of other league and country earnings around 8 mil from my first post for 66,915,854 of total current earnings.

Kidding aside, I do hope these guys at least donate a tiny bit to the club that helped get them that money.

John Settle, Mark Royals and Harold Alexander? A long time ago, but just curious.

I would like to see every athlete that makes it to this level donate back their scholarship, if not the current value then the value that they had when they were students. They can do this when they leave the NFL or donate a smaller amount and let it draw interest and after 15-20 years it is donated.

Also how much did Larry Hand make with the Lions from the mid-60s to the mid-70s? Obviously much less than they make now, but I was curious.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

In the year 1990 John Settle made 250,000. What you find mostly for him is what hes made as a coach in college and the pros which has been a hefty sum. Its total is in the millions.

Mark Royals. TB, PK, $630,520. This was his 2001 salary.

Harold alexander only played 2 seasons as a kicker when kickers really didnt make squat. I can't imagine he made more than a million for 2 seasons. Probably closer to 600k

Dino Hackett LB $485,000. Also 1991 single season salary.

Jason Hunter was left out. I’m sure he made a few dollars in the league.

This site is what I've been able to base most of these on. I can't vouch for its total accuracy but it seems like it all lines up.

edit: Also I used this list instead of the other to find player names. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... /index.htm

Good work appdaze! I would be willing to guess the total probably approaches north of $100 million if you include players and coaches (ie Steve Wilks, John Settle) in the NFL past and present that are App alumni.

I agree. Judging by the numbers I've come across so far I would wager that total would be between $110 million and $120 million. The coaching money would add up. We've had quite a few players take a shot at coaching at assistant positions. I figure all the 1990s and before athletes would be about 15-20 mil ish. Which added to the 76 mil is lets say 93-95 million. Then coaches have probably made a combined 15 mil ish. So that brings it to around $115 mil by my guess.

Didn't Dexter notoriously lose most of his money to a dirty financial advisor?

Duck also played in a few preseason games with the Bears, that has to count for something.
