Draft day!
Demetrius McCray -- DB
Steven Miller -- RB
Sam Martin -- P
Ok, so McCray will most definitely get drafted fairly early. Anyone know his projected round? I seem to recall hearing 4th. Miller is the biggest ? in my opinion.
Discuss.

Re: Draft day!
I think McCray goes late round and Steven Miller may go late round as well after the workout numbers he posted at his pro day.
Kimbrough and Sam Martin should catch on as UDFA's, Troy Sanders an outside shot of an UDFA deal as well.

Re: Draft day!
McCray has gone from 7th-FA to UDFA to 7th-FA to UDFA to 7th, and is now rated by two sites a 6th-7th. He is also listed in a couple of rising prospect sites. Still going to be later rounds and depends on who is left when the interested teams come up.asumike83 wrote:I think McCray goes late round and Steven Miller may go late round as well after the workout numbers he posted at his pro day.

From all the posts I've been reading from draft experts Steven has draft interest from 10 teams and UDFA from 17. He will get his chance somewhere.
Sam has nearly every team interested right now in one form or another. It's rare for a kicker to get drafted these days so he'll be signed the day after the draft.
JK has been picking up some more interest in the past few days. I think he'll get signed also but will have to prove himself to whichever team signs him during camp.
Same with TS but I read on some CFL sites that if he doesn't make an NFL team both he and JK will have a place in the CFL. Might even be a better path to take. Go there and ball out then see what develops.

Unfortunately, he's still a Panther. And I say this as a Panthers fan and an Armanti fan.App Band wrote:Has anyone heard anything about Armanti's fate yet?

He was at the Charlotte Yosef Club Tour stop last night. Still with the Panthers, but I imagine his days with the Panthers are numbered.Gonzo wrote:Unfortunately, he's still a Panther. National Football Post: In dire need of a big-play offensive weapon, the Rams make the bold move of grabbing Austin. Without question the most dynamic offensive player in the draft, Austin gives Sam Bradford and the Rams the target they thought they were acquiring when they took receiver Brian Quick in the second round a year ago. Do not be shocked when Austin is among the league leaders in combined yardage in 2013.

Re: Draft day!
What a stupid statement. Brian Quick is a possession receiver. Tavon Austin is much more like a Steve Smith type.Black Saturday wrote:OUCH!

Re: Draft day!
I doubt they are bringing in a kid who's 5-9, 170 to replace someone 6-4, 220. More likely to complement him.
Quick was raw, having just 5-6 years of organized football when he was drafted. He showed flashes last year and has attributes you can't teach. The Rams aren't giving up on him after one season.

I agree, but it was on the front page of the internet draft update. Sucks to get yellow journalism thrown at you, must have been a Hole grad?

Re: Draft day!
Yep. We were talking about this last night. It's going to be tough to double team Quick every play with this beast in the slot. This will open things up for BQ if anything.ASU-FTW wrote:What a stupid statement. Brian Quick is a possession receiver. Tavon Austin is much more like a Steve Smith type.Black Saturday wrote:OUCH!

Re: Draft day!
Exactly. Stupid comment by some guy who thinks he has to say SOMETHING. I mean...its' just CRAZY for an NFL team to wan TWO receiving targets. What could they be thinking?ASU-FTW wrote:What a stupid statement. Brian Quick is a possession receiver. Tavon Austin is much more like a Steve Smith type.Black Saturday wrote:OUCH!

Yep....3 of them. 2 from App and 1 from Georgia SouthernTheMoody1 wrote:Of the players the SoCon had drafted how many are from schools headed to the Sun Belt?
But then again, the Sun Belt is losing Florida International and Western Kentucky which accounted for 3 of their 4 draft picks
