Panthers QB Situation

Cam Newton cracked rib, Derek Anderson's wife having a baby, Blanchard out with concussion, what happens if Webb gets hurt?

Given the Panthers current WR situation and now this, too bad they cut Armanti.

AE will NEVER be a QB in the NFL. just accept it.

Assuming for a moment that Cam is unable to go in week 1, there's no reason Anderson shouldn't be able to go. The game is nearly 2 weeks away, and his wife's due date was Saturday.

As for their WRs, if the Panthers wanted Armanti to be on their roster, he would be.

if you are near Charlotte you can listen to WFNZ and hear about Cam 24 hours a day. :D

Sorry, but I just don't give a $%!+ about who plays where for the panthers ---

It sure beats WSOC showing preseason Deadskin games--which preempted the Bristol race.

I'm with you. He's just too small to be given that shot. If he wants to play QB then he needs to go to the CFL. If he were just 6'0 210 pounds then he has a shot but at 5'11, 185 or 190 he would get killed in that league as a QB. Those fat boys at Michigan may not have been able to get him but they will in the NFL.

Could be interesting if Webb is only available guy and Deandre Pressley is healthy enough to suit up for the team Thursday. He certainly has had successful experience as a QB. Haven't heard about DP being healthy in the past few weeks though unfortunately.

I thought DP was on IR, or maybe the PUP. If so, I don't think he would be eligible to play Thursday.

Yea he was definitely on the PUP for a while. Guess he's still there if not on IR.

Just announced that D'Andre has been placed on the Reserve/PUP list and three others have been placed on IR to get the Panthers down to 75. He's been on the PUP list but this allows him to stay with the team and not count against the team numbers.

He just came along a couple of years too early - he is not significantly smaller than Russell Wilson nor Johnny Manziel - at the same stage AE was a better passer than both - But, I agree, he won't play QB in the NFL - just hoping someone will bring him in like the Browns did last year ---

No it's not. He was a waste of a roster spot.

Who rattled your cage, anyway? You obviously never saw AE take charge of a game.

Regardless of what becomes of AE's pro career, I would never put Armanti Edwards and "waste of a roster spot" in the same sentence. He may never be a Super Bowl MVP, but I remember a December night in Chattanooga when he torched a future Super Bowl MVP 49-21. But some folks wouldn't know anything about that.

Well said; and a substantiated fact. Joe Flacco who?

In fact, AE was 2-0 against NFL QB's that year. (Henne and Flacco)
