Re: 2015 UDFA Thread
I agree. Just figured it would be a good thread to have but I should have titled it with CFL also. We'll see if anyone who doesn't get a camp invite gets a CFL chance.

Thanks Dawg. I looked at each roster but I missed that one somehow. I was looking for him too as I remember reading that he got picked up but I wasn't sure which team. Missed it.AppDawg wrote:Rauch was picked up last month by the Jacksonville Sharks of the Arena league.

Re: 2015 UDFA + CFL Thread
Legree and Miller both saw the field for the first time this season up north. LeGree has been sidelined with an injury since pre-season (1 of 4 Dbacks on the Roughridser roster out in injury) and Miller was sent down to the Practice Squad at the start of the season and called up after starting RB Anthony Allen (GaTech) was injured last week.
LeGree managed a single tackle in Saturady's loss to Toronto, while Miller racked up just over 200 total ayrds that included 54 yards rushing on 8 carries and 118 yards in kikc and punt returns. Allen was listed on the 1-Game Injured list going into Saturday's game (not yet updated post game) so Miller's action going forward is uncertain. However I will say that the Roughriders have had 4-5 different guys returning kicks this year and Miller's preformance was among the best thus far.
The Roughriders are off to a franchise (105 years and counting) worst start ever at a dismal 0-7. They lead the CFL in penalty yards especially among a weakened secondary (injuries abound) with new pass interference rules in place. The head coach is playing Defensive Coordinator and failing miserably. ANd to top it all off, their starting QB Darian Durent (UNC-CHeat) suffered a season ending injury in the 3rd quarter of the first game, and 2nd string QB Kevin Glenn (Illinois State) was knocked out of the 5th game, and so the last 2 starts the ball has been handed to a rookie whose chucked an ill-timed pick-6 in each of his 2 starts . . .
All that is to say that both LeGree and Miller have an opportunity to make an impact on the team and the rest of the season.

Re: 2015 UDFA + CFL Thread
The Roughriders posted a video of Steven Miller answering media questions. The depth chart for Staurday's game against Calgary has not been posted, but I would expect him to remain on the starting line-up following his performance against Toronto on Aug 8.

Re: 2015 UDFA + CFL Thread
I actually know one of the Alouette's scouts, Al Ford. He played in Saskatchewan with my father-in-law.
I would love to see Armanti go to the CFL. The Roughriders are in need of a QB, no doubt about that. The Canadian game would fit Armanti very well.

Dumb question maybe, but why there?appbanker wrote:Or the Montreal Alouettes - They have an office in Mooresville, NC.Budman2154 wrote:Maybe Armanti's agent should give the RoughRiders a call.

The General Manager (and on again/off again head coach) for the Alouettes, Jim Popphttp://en.montrealalouettes.com/page/jim-popp, is from Mooresville and moved his family back here when his parents were in declining health. The Mooresville High School football stadium is named after his father, Joe Popp. Because of having the office in Mooresville, the Allouettes usually hold a tryout at Joe Popp stadium in the spring.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:Dumb question maybe, but why there?appbanker wrote:Or the Montreal Alouettes - They have an office in Mooresville, NC.Budman2154 wrote:Maybe Armanti's agent should give the RoughRiders a call.

Re: 2015 UDFA + CFL Thread
Will Corbin and Tony Washington both have been cut by the Jags. Teams have to be down to 53 tomorrow and then will sign practice squads on Sunday. We'll see how many of our cut players get back onto their teams PS or get picked up by another team.

Peacock and Washington sign on to practice squads for their respective teams. Lamm makes 53-man roster as well as Cadet. Really another pretty good pro preseason for App. State alumns. Continuing the tradition...... Also waiting to see if J. Ross signs with the Dallas Cowboys, they have not released their practice squad yet.

Re: 2015 UDFA + CFL Thread
Thanks 11 for updating this. I've been sick since last evening and it's hit me like a ton of bricks. I saw who was picked up but felt so bad I just shut everything down.
