Saw a great profile of Ronald Blair and his impressive showing in camp and preseason games on ESPN.com

They discuss his small town upbringing, high school career, achievement at App and highlight a very positive view on his abilities and versatility by the 49ers.

Nice find and thanks for sharing! I especially liked this comment:

“But yeah, I feel comfortable with him at nose, at end, outside ’backer. He’s going to be a guy that we move around. Offenses are going to have to find him and deal with him.”

I agree with the "small college" references for App. I know that in the great landscape of college football we are not a big boy but we carry the same number of players as all other BCS schools and we have guys who are roughly the same size in many positions. In my mind small school references should be saved for places like Stoneybrook, NCCU, etc. What exactly is the cutoff? Is Wake considered a small school?

Even Dook has the same or fewer students than App.

Basically 'small college' is in reference to G5. If you're not in a P5 conference you're small time.

I thought the article emphasized the small town values he learned and adopted growing up in Greensboro GA. Maybe I should read it again and try harder to feel slighted :?:

It appears only Demetrius McCray and Joel Ross were the only casualties today.
