MCCray just got beaten badly in his first series of the 3rd quarter. Tony in a WR 1 attempt but DB got in front for a PD. Tony just made a good sideline e catch.

TW two catches from our friend Chad Henne, one on a fourth and three, to set up a TD....

Wow! Go TW! Caught two point pass from Henne. Took the ball away from the defender. May have earned a job somewhere with that catch.

What's the latest on AE's "shot" in the CFL? He made it to the Roughriders' two-deep, then...crickets...

AE's been on the CFL equivalent of the IR since week 1. Not looking good for him. Riders are the worst team in the CFL and he's not getting on the field.

Wish he could have had a career in the pro's but sometimes it just doesn't work out. Nothing can diminish what the man did in college. I feel confident that enough of us are not looking through black and gold glasses and can say with utmost certainty that AE was the real deal. Had he gotten a shot with a big boy program he could have thrown up some big numbers. We were truly lucky to have had him and he was something else. I hope his shot is not over. When my Panthers picked him (and the way it was done) it made me a little nervous. It was going to be tough trying to transition to an entirely new position. When I watch Joe Webb I think- that's where Armanti should have been. Third string QB, wide out and special teamer if needed.

He got his punishment. Lost out on a possible SB win with Denver. No longer with the Panthers- thank god...it is what it is (always detested that answer to every question), and now gets to "coach" the crappy ass Bears. Idiot!!

Hope for Quick:
From Coach Fisher: On how he felt like WR Brian Quick responded this week after dropping passes in the second preseason game)
“I thought he was better. He got open. He was a little bit more explosive in his routes when he got the opportunities. I thought he improved. We never had any issues with his blocking, but I thought he played better yesterday.”

If Armanti had played QB for the Gamecocks, who did recruit him, or any other FBS school he would have likely gotten a shot at QB in the NFL. My understanding is that some of the teams who had him on their draft radar did plan to give him a look at QB, unfortunately the Panthers were not one of those teams. I know there are many, many Panther fans on this board but I lost any interest that I ever had in seeing the Panthers win anything as a result of Armanti’s tenure with them. I know that the main culprit was John “I’d rather go with Brian St. Pierre who hasn’t taken a snap in two years than give Edwards a chance” Fox and he is no longer with the team. The reason I no longer pull for the Panthers is the way many of their fans trashed him from day one. It got to where I could not even go on the Panther message boards due to all the hateful comments directed at AE and in many cases at the Appalachian football program. I know all fan bases have their share of idiots and uninformed dolts and I know I should just get over it and move on but I can’t. One reason is that a few of those AE haters are people I know personally (not ASU folks of course) and they still bring up the "wasted draft pick" to me from time to time as if he were the only pick they ever made that did not pan out.
