That's all? just vacating wins? Guess the NCAA had to set the stage for a lite penalty for UNC.

Re: Ragin' Cajun Football Sacked
Did they self-impose any scholarship reductions? If they did, it wasn't many. Vacating the league title and bowl wins stings, but otherwise, no scholarship reductions and no postseason ineligibility = slap on the wrist.

I think the head coach HAD TO KNOW what was going on. The problem, however, it that the school and the NCAA were unable to pin it on him. There was, by some "miracle," never any evidence or paper trail leading directly to the HC. If they could have laid it at his feet--the result would have been more severe. He covered his trail somehow--and nobody on his staff would rat him out. That's my belief, anyway. If I'm right, he'll cheat again. Eventually, he'll get caught. I suspect a lot of eyes will be on his every move going forward.

Rumor has it Coach Hudspeth stashed all of the evidence linking him to wrongdoing in Boone. Boone is a small settlement in the remote and rugged High Country of North Carolina. It's hours from airports and lodging. They say he figured NCAA investigators would be too timid to tackle such a daunting fact finding mission.

This means nothing if they don't take some scholarships. So they cant say they won some games that they know they did.

Lafayette already self-imposed scholarship reductions back in October.
