Delaware moving to CUSA
Per Pete Thamel: Sources: Conference USA is expected to add Delaware as a new member for the 2025-26 season. The sides have been in talks and a decision is expected to be formalized in the upcoming days.
Not much left in the old FCS. I wouldn't be surprised if N Dakota and Montana feel they will have to make the move.

With Kennesaw St. joining for 2024, the rumor is that CUSA will also add Missouri St. in '25 along with Delaware to get to 12 members.TheMoody1 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 10:34 amPer Pete Thamel: Sources: Conference USA is expected to add Delaware as a new member for the 2025-26 season. The Montanas and the Dakotas are going to be left with nowhere to go if they aren't careful.

If the Pac 2 raid the Mountain West as some suspect, the Montana's and Dakota's can be used to back fill that depleted conference. I assume the fans of those schools really enjoy the playoff runs and success but even they have to admit that FCS has been completely watered down over the past 30 years.

I believe Oregon State and Washington State have made a scheduling alliance with the MWC.t4pizza wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 1:15 pmIf the Pac 2 raid the Mountain West as some suspect, the Montana's and Dakota's can be used to back fill that depleted conference. Re: Delaware moving to CUSA
C-USA looks more and more like a glorified FCS conference. It's definitely at the bottom of the G5's. Are there any attendance requirements anymore? Without doing any research, how many of these teams making the jump are pulling in 10k a game?

Attendance numbers were never part of the equation … even though they were part of the requirements. It was too easy for schools to fudge the numbers.

No attendance requirements, but Delaware will be the first school to pay the 5 million to move up.

Re: Delaware moving to CUSA
There needs to be a strict 15k attendance requirement to stay in FBS. We got too many awful looking crowds on TV. I think there needs to be a budget minimum, attendance requirement, give at least 80 scholarships, and the 5M fee to move up and say that if you meet those standards you get set back down. They could get rid of the transition years as well.
