Why is there a thread about a player that doesn’t go here and a team that isn’t App.
It’s in the Other Schools’ Athletics folder.
That’s a fair point. I guess I’m confused. This is an app state board. It’s obvious the collective mod team has some obviously questionable opinions, but I didn’t think they would come out and support this becoming a UT board. I find that to be # SAD and low energy. Some would say the mods are sleepy but I’ll give them credit for at least not being stroked out.
Yes, you are confused about many things. Help is available if you seek it.
You are right. Anytime I worry about something I always advocate seeing a qualified and honest Doctor but it’s sad that’s not something every person agrees on.

I got worried earlier today after working on my car. This was because I had these brownish black spots on the back of my hands. I Was really worried because I honestly think something like that is a solid reason to see dr. luckily for me it was just a grease stain and I was worried for nothing. I had the best, I’ve heard others say the greatest, bill of health from a real, people have told me Hes the best, doctor ever. Moral of the story I think this thread is low energy, the best people have said this thread is sleepier than even 89 is in real life.

I think an app state board should be about current App state players and about the absolute shit show in front of us. This should not be a forum that allows fawning over a player that has played for god knows how many D1 teams at this point, never won a championship of any type, and was .500 in seasons with a winning record in the black and gold.

Joey Aguilar was the former QB for Appalachian State. Many people, myself included, enjoyed watching him and continue watching and rooting for him this year. Some of these people with this shared interest discuss things on this website. Therefore, one of those people started a thread in the appropriate posting area about Joey Aguilar in order to discuss him.

I was able to watch most of the 2nd half while flying home. Joey didn't play a perfect game, but who ever does? He performed exceptionally well against top-tier talent, the likes of which he's never faced before.

To me, the game was lost on during the Vols' drive before the missed FG. A holding penalty, followed by conservative play calling felt very much like "playing not to lose" and was the opposite of what UT had been doing most of the day.

Joey played a great game (despite the 2 interceptions) and TN wouldn't have been in a position to win without him. Georgia underestimated him and the TN passing game and paid for it in the first quarter. I think Joey will do fine for the rest of the season, but he will definitely have to stay sharp because nobody will sleep on him anymore. Kudos Joey!

If you don’t want to engage in a topic then don’t engage. Posting in a topic that you don’t agree with for the sole purpose to let everyone know you don’t agree with it is like those folks that post that they are taking a break from social media. No one cares.

Watching Joey I am reminded of two main things:

1- Frank Ponce could find qb talent
2- Frank Ponce was not a good play caller and wasted said qb talent.

Each game Joey plays just reinforces my belief that Ponce screwed Joey up last year. Dude threw for 3,700 yards and 33 TD's his Junior year, but all Ponce wanted to focus on was how he didn't play well enough.

I’ll admit I tuned in and watched a good bit of the UT game Saturday and had that fleeting thought that if JA lit up UG and UT won would his name start being knocked around as a Heisman contender. He did really well Saturday and is off to a nice start. Personally at this point I don’t really care much at all how UT does but I hope JA has a good season and maybe he gets a job next year to play on Sundays. As this new era of college football progresses if App State starts losing more of the better players after one good season my level of giving a crap about them will be down close to zero. I’m also wondering what NFL guys are going to say on those Sunday and Monday night games when their introductions are done- in terms of their college. More and more simply refer to their high school, county of origin or city where they grew up. Fewer and fewer will really care where they “graduated”.

If he makes the NFL, that can be a selling point to App. Come to App for two years, do well to get looks from the SEC which can propel you to the NFL. Pulling for Joey to succeed is to also pull for the status of your own football team.

Joey played at App and did a great job considering his surrounding cast. He graduated from App so to me he is an App Man. Once you graduate, I wish all the best for that person in whatever life brings to them in the future. No different than an App grad going to the NFL, I will cheer for them to be successful in their life endeavors. Also, you have to consider that due to NCAA rules at that point, he thought his eligibility was done before a series of other factors played in and presented him with a new opportunity. Any one of you criticizing him for taking the NIL and moving on would do the same at that point in your life/career. I guarantee you if after my 4th year someone offered me $1.2M to leave App I would have done it in a heartbeat at that age. It was also a potential for him to maybe get to NFL whereas even if he comes back his chances are infinitely lower. Now he actually has a chance to further his career in NFL if he does well this year. How can you NOT want him to be successful?

That is how I feel for Joey. I hope he kills it and moves on to the NFL and has a great career. It will only reflect well on App State.

I’ve been parroting this for a while, but we need to become the Borussia Dortmund of college football.

For those unaware, Dortmund is a German soccer club in the Bundesliga. They have the task of trying to keep up with Bayern Munich in Germany which is financially impossible for them. Dortmund continually found themselves losing their young talent to bigger clubs and instead of battling that, leaned into it.

They’ve come to define themselves as THE club in which young potential superstars can develop and launch their career into the stratosphere. They occasionally catch lightning in a bottle and make a run at a title with a team of 18-20 year olds, and the of course lose them all in the transfer window.

We will never keep up with the P2. But we should lean heavy into being their development pipeline.

“Come play QB at App State if you’d like to be an SEC QB your senior year”.
