We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

You have one of the greatest coaches of all time coaching your college football team...... I mean....I'd be excited. UNC is trying to become relevant in football. Can't blame them for trying.

Right now, everyone is trying to be relevant in football, but some are spending more than others. UNC-Ch is trying a novel approach. App is as trying something new as well.

I think this moves works and they are in the running to be national champs in 3 years. BB will get the players he wants, the players he can actually coach. There will be no desperation to get kids who are “the best” but can’t be coached. BB will be in charge.

I think UNC-Ch has always gotten the players they wanted; they have just never been able to anything with them. They seemed more interested in getting into the NFL than winning.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 10:25 amI think this moves works and they are in the running to be national champs in 3 years. Re: UNC Fires Mack Brown
Just my belief, in the NIL/portal era I think players will be harder to coach. I just think BB will find and retain players he can coach.AppWyo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 10:27 amI think UNC-Ch has always gotten the players they wanted; they have just never been able to anything with them. I think BB gets caught screwing a coed and they run him out of town in year 2.

He's already dating one of them, so he's already doing that. Assume they are good with that.

Is that something the folks in Chapel Hill would frown upon? Is that something that would be frowned upon by many if any universities these days?

It will be interesting as the collectives begin to fold. I heard the IRS is stepping in and it is starting already. They say paying players is not charitable so collectives will be losing that clasification. Word is that the money will have to go to the universities to hand out. Sounds to me like employees with all the tax ramifacations that go with it. I am not a CPA but for the student I am guessing State, Federal, and FICA. I am guessing as an employee scholorship money would be a taxable benifit. On the employer (school) side they would have the other half of the FICA, and also unemployment insurance. Would also need to expand the HR and payroll. I am guessing in the not too distant future the "students" will also have union dues to pay as that will be a given. This really has been a great idea. The old way really sucked.appstate24 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 6:45 amThe investment in NIL is far more significant and impactful than Belichick in my opinion. Once App brings NIL inside, and it’s in the works, it will be tax deductible and it will earn YC points.

Less minimum giving requirements to buy season tickets.
The per seat/section minimum giving requirement directly reduces the ability to claim tax deduction $1 for $1.

Re: UNC Fires Mack Brown
Look.... UNC has Bill Belichik as a coach and MIKE LOMBARDI as their GM ... They are creating a true mini-nfl team. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the old Patriots gang comes back. I have to say BB and Lombardi is a dynamic duo.

Re: UNC Fires Mack Brown
G5 programs need to band together and demand higher payouts for road only series. They can’t spend a $1M on one player and only pay us that for games any longer.
I’d rather have a seventh home game every other year.

Re: UNC Fires Mack Brown
Explain this please in detail.
1) how tax deductible??
2) means players would be employees and that aint happened yet.
This is something you've been told by a YC employee that has no clue and if DG is telling this, he's putting your money places and telling you its going to NIL -- I'd bet my paycheck on it. there is fishy sh*t going on in that building these days.
Revenue Sharing is on its way, this will make G5 schools cut other sports or they become non scholarship. This is separate from NIL

How long will it be before those unions go on strike?bcoach wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 4:12 pmIt will be interesting as the collectives begin to fold. Re: UNC Fires Mack Brown
NIL funding is not tax deductible. I’d be wary of filing your taxes that way.
