I can think of 1.2M reasons why he went to UCLA.
And I say that as a big fan of Joey and his family and happy he's doing so well.

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
The money wasn’t the motivating factor. It was good money and it was closer for his family to see him, but that was his opportunity to get to the next level. He’s doing well financially at Tennessee as well. He loves it, the fans love him. But make no mistake, he loves App. He is looking to get a house in Boone at some point.

Honestly that makes it all make sense. There was no way he could have afforded a house in Boone on an App NIL deal. TN could afford him that opportunity with a cool mil or so.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 9:05 amThe money wasn’t the motivating factor. That's a knock on Boone pruces dripping in sarcasm just an FYI to our beloved readers.

I talk to Jose frequently. I’ve never asked how much Joey is getting because it’s none of my business, but he did tell me that he is doing quite well financially. More importantly, he is managing his money in a mature manner.

For someone that enjoys the nuance of statements that's a bold one. Maybe not THE, but is was certainly part of the equation.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 9:05 amThe money wasn’t the motivating factor. Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
Maybe but he didn’t have the supporting cast last year. We didn’t have any D and a weak OLine to win more.

Money is always a deciding factor. I can say this, when Joey was being courted after 2023, Jose told me “we got what we were comfortable with from App.”Saint3333 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 9:31 amFor someone that enjoys the nuance of statements that's a bold one. Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
We had two players starting for WV in the secondary. A player starting for Tulane on the DL, a rotational player for Mizzou on the DL, and our current leading tacklers at LB. We had enough talent to do better than the atrocity we saw last season. That is a testament to how poor of a coach Sloan is and how bad his scheme and playcalling were.
Samford is giving up 40 points per game under his leadership currently if that tells you anything.
