Re: Other Games 10/14
I think the rule is silly, but other teams have had to deal with it, JMU should be no exception. They knew what it was when they joined, and just because they're successful you can't change it in the middle of a season in my opinion.
If you do it for JMU, Jacksonville State deserves the same treatment should they become bowl eligible. JMU was denied in April, recently the Virginia Attorney General wrote a letter to the NCAA as well requesting an exception.
I think there is still a way should not enough 6 win teams fill the bowl slots, but I could see 5 win P5 teams upset feeling they should be next in line.

I was talking about their D line, not their entire team.appvette wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 1:46 pmGeez, simmer down. Every one of their 4 FBS wins have been by only one score. They're good, but not "real good P5" good. Real good P5 teams wouldn't beat a winless UVA by 1 point (see their Tennessee and Maryland games).GSUwasGump’sFallbackSchool wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 1:16 pmJMU’s line play is what sets them apart, on both sides of the ball, drastically from the rest of the conference. I think they returned every single offensive lineman, and they never fail to execute. Their front 7 on D cause more chaos than any SBC can possibly dream of. They’re P5 good, and real good P5 good, there.
They’re also well coach, execute everywhere on the field (watch their wide receivers block, and are prepared. Not to mention it’s obvious to read their “want to” and see the chip on their shoulder.

JMU is legit. Hard to imagine you can assemble such a team knowing you can't win a conference championship or go to a bowl.

I think it’s as much of an attitude than the assembling of a team. They’re confident, composed and don’t beat themselves…a reflection of their HC.

JMU’s defensive size, speed and tackling makes App look like the FCS transition team.

If you pull the analogy through of JMU looking like us, I’d say we are Arkansas State. A lot of success before we transitioned, a lot of turnover and now they are just trying to rebuild a foundation.

Discussed the crazy number of one score games we have had over the past several years. Aside from FCS who was the last legit good FBS team we laid the wood, sandpapered, Baghdad bombed?

It looked that way to me as well, and yet so many continue to say we have such great talent.
