APP got a mention for winning 3 strait just before the Moore mention.

I know they lost their coach but any chance they win 4 in a row? Not sure how many seniors they lose. Tying our 3-peat was bad enough but I couldn't stomach them breaking it.

Losing 24 seniors and most of their coaching staff. I think 4 is going to be much harder.AppAttack wrote:I know they lost their coach but any chance they win 4 in a row? Not sure how many seniors they lose. Tying our 3-peat was bad enough but I couldn't stomach them breaking it.

The Charlotte Observer gave us far more coverage in our FCS Championship games than any of the minor bowls. We were on the front page.

I can only guess but with so many of the "power" schools leaving, teams may start winning 4 and 5 in a row. At least we did it before many of the "good" teams left.AppAttack wrote:I know they lost their coach but any chance they win 4 in a row? Not sure how many seniors they lose. The only reason the CO gave the FCS NC coverage is because we were in it. How much coverage did they give it for the ones that didn't have a local tie? If any of the local schools make even minor bowls they'll cover it.

Re: FCS Championship game
Great for us but I'm talkin' like maybe an NFL venue or something. Like has already been mentioned, promote it, build it up and make a big deal out of it. After all it is a D1 NC. I don't care what anybody says it is a big deal especially for the teams and fans of the competing teams. I am ready to move on but I still like FCS football and I appreciate that the level of competition (especially deep playoff teams) is as good as lower level bowl teams. No reason except money that they should not receive more attention for this game.bcoach wrote:They did have it in a great location and decided to leave.appbio91 wrote:True, pretty much no off field action in soccer. Does the CO employ beat writers for the ACC,South Carolina, or Charlotte? Does anyone think they will give us one?

How much coverage do they give the minor bowls which have no local ties? Are they on the front page?

I would guess that a minor bowl with no local tie would get as much coverage as the FCS NC. The main difference is that our chance to get in a minor bowl (then getting coverage), is much greater than getting in the FCS NC game just because there is only one of them.

Re: FCS Championship game
The Observer and the Journal give App decent coverage. The Raleigh N&O, on the other hand, probably gives App less coverage than NCCU and maybe even St. Augustine's.
As a rule of thumb, when you can't even get a gameday blurb in the state's second largest media market, in the county that is home to your school's second-largest alumni base, 3 hours from your campus, you probably aren't getting much media coverage.

I'd like It promoted as well but we're talking about ESPN The world-wide excluder in sports here.appbio91 wrote: Great for us but I'm talkin' like maybe an NFL venue or something.
