Your first line was "I don't understand this board's fascination with JMU" ...I gave you a simple answer. That's it...

The article quoted said we were getting $100K, One post on CSNbbs said we got $50K per school. $1M seems too high.ASUGoose wrote:I thought each full member Sun Belt school was getting $1M/YR from the TV deal. I'm not sure if the football only or non-football members get that much or if some prorated amount.Capt. Ed wrote:So, do we know how much we get from the TV deal per school?.

I've followed JMU for years and have been a supporter of sorts. Perhaps naively, I thought they had some respect for us and might view us as a move up partner.CVAPP wrote:I have been around APP football and here at the board for a lot longer than I have been posting here, and I dare say my passion and loyalties for APP football date back far longer than yours. An arrogant yankee fan base that throws purple streamers and beds down with the likes of Richmond and William & Mary is not my crowd, or what I view as a peer institution, or one I care about being associated with, or one I view worthy of constant discussion around here.
That all ended when they so publicly dissed the Sun Belt and indirectly us. I had no problem with their decision to wait but their explanation had no class or respect for anyone.
Now, they are the school I love to hate. Perhaps this is childish, but hey, why else do we spend so much time on what after all is just a game?

I'm just going off what was discussed at the time App was moving to the Sun Belt, I'm sure their is a quote by Cobb somewhere from back in 2012/2013. I'm of the impression that $50k or even $100k seems way too low.Capt. Re: CUSA television contract
I believe 100k per school is correct for the TV money. The 1 Million is the share each school receives from the CFP payout. It is the amount the P5's let trickle down to us peons in the G5.

Re: CUSA television contract
This is correct. The current TV deal provides $100k per school. The CFP share is at least $1 million per school, and could be more depending on the performance of the league as a whole.TheMoody1 wrote:I believe 100k per school is correct for the TV money. Ahh yes, sorry I was confusing the TV $$ with the CFP payout as well. Thank you for clarifying.TheMoody1 wrote:I believe 100k per school is correct for the TV money. Aren't we getting $100k/YR from Nike? We need Karl to negotiate harder to up that TV payout for the conference!

I think with what App and Southern (just threw up a little saying that name) have done KB has a little more leverage to work with than he did when we were just starting our move up. I would truly be surprised if we can't get a better deal with us fully in the mix.ASUGoose wrote:Ahh yes, sorry I was confusing the TV $$ with the CFP payout as well. Yankee? 74% of their student body is from VA. I get that is north of Boone, but huh?CVAPP wrote:I have been around APP football and here at the board for a lot longer than I have been posting here, and I dare say my passion and loyalties for APP football date back far longer than yours. Re: CUSA television contract
I would imagine it would go to around $500-600K next go around. That would be similar to what CUSA and MAC have both been given in the past year. The CUSA folks are saying that everyone else will see a drop, but really they are just coming back to the pack after the top teams bolted for the AAC.firemoose wrote:I think with what App and Southern (just threw up a little saying that name) have done KB has a little more leverage to work with than he did when we were just starting our move up. Re: CUSA television contract
I guess I think of Northern VA as the DC area. I have been to JMU once, but I think of that as more rural Western VA. If JMU has Walmart fans that come from outside their alumni base, then God bless them, we all need more of that.TheMoody1 wrote:Northern VA is loaded with yankees.Nugget49 wrote:Yankee? 74% of their student body is from VA. Truthfully I don't know too much about JMU. I know you guys don't seem to like them. Looking at their campus, their football stadium (I know it is lopsided), and the easy access to get there, it seems like they would be a great fit in the Sun Belt. C-USA is so spread out geography doesn't score you many points there, but if we had a slot and their name came up I would not cringe or anything. Should I?

A large segment of their student body is from NOVA. Of course, the same could be said for UVa and Tech.

I submit this as evidence that Virginia is in fact (no matter how you spin it) in the South.

Proof? So is Florida on that map. You either have yankee mentality or you don't. Where you are or where you live does not matter. Trust me!APPdiesel wrote:I submit this as evidence that Virginia is in fact (no matter how you spin it) in the South.

I have always thought you crossed out of the South when you asked for chili on a hot dog and they gave you something with beans in it.CVAPP wrote:Proof? So is Florida on that map.
