Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
They'll beat Troy, but, imho, the damage is done. For a team that celebrated a win by jumping on a bird mascot and "breaking" a table and playing "chippy" all year, this is a bad look for CCU. There's no other way around it. Scared is scared. Hell of a message to send to your team, as well.

Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
Play the game, Chadwell! Sounds like you are whining. BYU comes 2500 miles to play on short notice and gives CCU a chance at earning some credibility and now a game that’s been on the charts for a year and you want to back out. Troy has some stake in it, too. Obviously CCU is willing to toss them and their thoughts to the win. By the way, play your games Krychevski. If you and your Dookies hadn’t already been beat twice you wouldn’t be whining.

Makes the Twitty Birds look pretty bad , should have kept their mouth shut and just played the game. They should win by 30 but with this attitude who knows. As to them and LALA , I like the Cajuns chances based on my limited knowledge. We should have beat CC , we could have beaten LaLa.

Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
I was pulling for Coastal but this is just dumb. So going forward we all get to decide if a game has the potential to benefit us. Based on those locker room “celebrations” I thought Chadwell was immature. Well he cleared up any confusion I might have had, he is immature. Hate it for his team but I hope both Troy and UL stomp Coastal. “America’s team” just laid an egg.

Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
That point is BS. We stayed to the end of the Coastal/App Game. After using the restroom, we were one of the last ones out of the stadium and actually had to walk through the Coastal players celebrating their win with plenty of friends and family members mixed in to the celebration beneath the stands. It was crowded and we were just trying to make our way out of the gate without any conflict (everything was cool and they deserved the celebration)Rick83 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 4:00 pmIt's already been mentioned by Chadwell about how some of their fans rushed the field after that dramatic ending in their BYU game and mixed in with the players and staff. These were people that were "outside of their bubble." They could come down with some cases as a result but I don't think there'd be time to go through the protocol if they end up canceling the game at Troy as a result.
There was a far greater chance of COVID transmission in that crowded environment (although is was outside and well ventilated,) then there was in the spaced out crowd rush post-BYU.

Their long snapper cost them 5 points.mikeyosef wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 2:45 pmBased on our games with both teams I think ULL is the better team, top to bottom. I felt we should have beaten Coastal even being down a few players on the other hand, if it wasn't for the horrible performance of their long-snapper, ULL might have beaten us soundly. That punter they have was deadly in both our games last year and this year I don't think we have the horses to overcome the way that guy flipped the field on us with good snaps.
I believe the championship will be a good game but it would not surprise me in the least if ULL wins by more than a touchdown. If something happens to Coastal's QB in the game against Troy or even early in the ULL game, it's a 3 touchdown win for ULL.
It's any given Saturday and it's a Championship so who knows what will happen. I'll be watching.

"Woulda, could, shoulda" on all three losses. I attended CCU and UL games. I left both frustrated.

Chadwell may have just talked himself into a trap game.

Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
I really thought CCU would take care of business in this game like they've done all season. This just goes to show how far some bulletin board material can go to changing the outcome of a game. Troy almost pulls off the upset despite their "meaningless" status. There's nothing like a good upset to add "meaning" to a game!
Congrats to Coastal for salvaging the win. Chadwell is a very good coach, but he never should have made those comments publicly.

He thanked the commissioner for the injuries his team suffered yesterday...

Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
Excerpt from Myrtle Beach Sun News: Junior offensive lineman Antwine Loper left the game with what appeared to be an ankle injury in the second quarter and didn’t return, and linebacker Kendricks Gladney Jr. left the game late with an apparent knee injury. Chadwell said neither will be able to play next week. “We lost some guys that we will not have for the championship game. . . . So thank you commish,” Chadwell said.
Can’t say I would want my son playing for this guy. Also can’t wait to see if this sense of entitlement rubs off on his players if they flame out. Reports indicate he may be up for a contract extension at CCU, but, if he doesn’t like how the conference is run, he can move on to another one. Don’t let the door hit you...
I have to wonder if his attitude this past week may be costing him some interviews.

Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
I had a lot of respect for Chadwell for what he's done this season but now that's changed. His whining is unbelievable...I hope he stays and we pound them next year at The Rock.

Ah, poor baby, maybe we should just hand them the Conference Title and not even play the game next week.

This guy belongs in Chapel Hill. In addition to him being a world class complainer, he’d love having the conference in his back pocket.Appstrong wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 11:14 amExcerpt from Myrtle Beach Sun News: Junior offensive lineman Antwine Loper left the game with what appeared to be an ankle injury in the second quarter and didn’t return, and linebacker Kendricks Gladney Jr. left the game late with an apparent knee injury. Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
I don't remember us complaining about them having two weeks and us being down Sutton, a healthy Hennigan, Marcus Williams, Harrington, thin at TE, etc. In his eyes we should have been given a pass and not had to play that game? Maybe they should have made CCU sit 4-5 star players on offense to even it up with us. LOLBeauFoster wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 12:28 pmThis guy belongs in Chapel Hill. Injuries are part of the game and you have to overcome them. Those are just two players and should not be a huge deal for them. I hope they lose because of those comments but I still expect them to win.
