I kind of hate this for Greg because I know he was hoping that his brother going there and being close to him would help him get his issues straightened out.

He must be a loser to get kicked off of Miami's team

Whoops.

Stories like this make me thankful that we don't have a constant cloud of things like this over our team.

These are the kind of chances you take when you are desperate.

Yeah, UNCC football has been characterized by terrible teams, low fan interest, and now a super high profile off-the-field scandal. What's next?

Year four (I think) and 49er Football is an abject failure. Georgia State, the other media market fasttrack-to-FBS team, was WAY better off at this point.

UNCC is actually ahead of where GA St. was at this point (three years). GA St. didn't do anything until year 6 on their program.

This is a big year for them (first year with players that have been through the entire program), if they can win 5 games that would be a good step forward.

Just checked their schedule for next year. Pretty weak. They have the potential to win 4 to 6 games if things go their way. That would be their best case scenario by far.

UNCC got better, but CUSA was garbage with the exception of LaTech, WKU, MTSU and ODU.

Lambert should now be weary before taking transfers with red flags. For the most part, he's done decent in building the program, but this is a high-profile failure.

They might have a more wins than GSU in year three (barely) playing in a weaker conference. GaSt brought some decent crowds for the first season and they didn't land on the front page of ESPN for their QB's alleged sexual malfeasance in year three.

Anywho, I think we can all agree this is the most press UNCC football will ever get.

...Until the administration cleans house after losing a home game to us by 10 scores.

I guess my point was GA St. was an even bigger dumpster fire at first. Neither could be labeled a success thus far.

UNCC and GA St. will not stay down forever however, and we shouldn't pretend we'll always be on top.

Lambert took a chance on a player who supposedly had the skill set but fell short on character after being dismissed from both Miami and Towson. I'm sure he's learned a lesson on taking players with suspect character especially considering he already had his starter, Klugh, on the roster.

Agreed, they took a chance hoping a change of scenery and family in the area could help right the ship. If he is guilty, I hope he gets the book thrown at him. I hesitate to point a finger too quickly, all it takes is one kid to commit a crime and I don't think that means they have a constant cloud of crime. At least I haven't heard other issues in Charlotte.

Anyway, I just hope none of our players do anything criminal or stupid and we beat the brakes off of them when we play.

I hope so too. It will be at their place and we'll be breaking in a brand new QB.

I see no reason to express glee over another's misfortune. Its always a tough choice in cases like this. With older brother and family in town, it did seem maybe things could get turned around.

While I generally agree with this, UNC-C falls into a whole different category in my opinion. You wish no harm to anyone, but then this happens and suddenly they are on the map via ESPN, and well this is all anyone wants to bring up in regards to them.
