The AAC has voted to add Wichita State as a full member. They don't have a football program but become one of the conferences top basketball programs from the start.

You have to think App would have been a front runner if we had even a decent basketball team. Having one of the worst basketball programs in D1 for almost a decade is a huge drag on an otherwise spectacular athletic department.

It would also help if we had a Koch brother willing to pour unlimited funds into our athletic department like Wichita does.

Nope. Maybe down the road, but not now. The AAC now has 12 non-football members and 12 football members.
Funny thing about this move is that John Bardo, the chancellor who infamously FUBAR'ed Western Carolina's football team in the early 2000's (although he was a fantastic academic chancellor), is now the president of Wichita State.
