College Football Silly Season Claims H.Freeze (Ole Miss) as early victim

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze resigns; escort-service calls cited; latest Rebel misdeeds put football program in direct line for NCAA death penalty

Documentation of hanky-panky forces an on-the-spot resignation at Ole Miss. Hugh Freeze's personal scandal will cost him the entirety of the $12 mil + salary that he would have been paid through the 2019 season. Other heads will roll!

Just saw that Coach Satterfield is mentioned on list of possible permanent replacements. The history of Ole Miss head coaches is not good.

Yep! His name will pop up about everywhere as long as he keeps the wins piling up. The Rebels have a sketchy track record for valuing principle in their football program. The heavy threat of NCAA sanctions might make this position hard to fill with a quality, principled HC. They'll have retreads and renegades aplenty to choose from.

They had a highly principled person in Cutcliff and they sent him away.

They'll get sanctions, but any death penalty talk is silly.

I think it's likely Scott will fill a head coach position formerly held by Cutliffe at Duke more so than Ole Miss, but I am not sure either job is in Scott's future. I am sure Scott will take his principles with him any where he goes. I seriously doubt he would even think twice about selling his sole and moving to Oxford right now.

I've also seen Brown and Anderson mentioned among others. Basically every successful G5 coach has been listed by someone. It's going to be a tough job to fill with the ongoing NCAA investigation and Houston Nutt lawsuit.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?
