Reminder:

- Ga. State is still Ga. State.
- Elliott is unproven at any level above position coach.
- Just because they're in an old baseball stadium now doesn't mean their team is any better.
Yeah not sold on Elliot as the savior GSU fans thought he'd be. Good OL coach, but 1-6 as the head man with two losses to FCS schools. It's early though so we'll see how it goes in Atlanta.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Watched a lot of that GSU game, I was embarrassed for the belt watching it. Those are the games we have to win as a conference. Poor showing there.

Watched the beginning as GS marched quickly to the red zone- then fumbled. Figured they would stomp TS and we might need to be concerned down the road. Checked the score periodically and saw that GS was doing nothing (seriously?). The kicker was that last possession by TS where they kept throwing and only needed to run clock. Bad team and crazy coaching decisions. GS got it back and seemed to have momentum only to throw the horrible PIC. That was a terrible showing at home on opening night in a new stadium. As an aside I've really noticed one particular aspect of bad FBS and lower division teams- fat, slow offensive linemen. We will destroy the GS QB.

I realize Georgia Tech is the only Ga. school not on our schedule, but the flashbacks of the triple option have traumatized me to the point I can't create a new thread. Thank goodness GaSo ditched this vile and disgusting offense. (Though we probably became as good at stopping it as anyone toward the end).

I'm enjoying it as well. Fun to watch it work.

It is something to behold when your guys aren't the ones trying to stop it.

Yep, we used the Wishbone Y when we beat Wake, ECU, and South Carolina in 1975.

Haven't they gone back to the triple option this year?

From what I've heard, GS will implement more elements of the triple option as the season goes on. They haven't really committed to it. I was thinking their new coaching hires would have them looking more like the old GS but we really couldn't tell anything based on the beat down that Auburn put on them.

I didn't see anything of the game, but you are telling me that GS doesn't run the TO and only threw for 3 yards in the 4th qtr when I looked and 8yds for the whole game?

that's basically how it sums up. They are playing a formation out of the shotgun and the plan is to implement "elements of the TO" during the year. What they are doing right now is not the traditional flexbone/TO formation. I don't know how much we can take away from the game Saturday but I was surprised at the result and by the lack of TO.

After that game it will take some work from them to scare me this year it seems. Though we like to make some mistakes against them to keep them in it occasionally.
