Hated the kid recommitted to go to Iowa St, but he is having a solid game vs #15 Oklahoma St right now.

He did well for a bit after coming in for the injured starter. His inexperience showed in the 4th. It may be childish of me but the INT that ended the game put a smile on my face.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Didn't see the game, but I hear ya. I feel like a jerk as a grown man rooting against a college kid. But the way he handled his decommitment from us - and I mean the timing and dishonesty, not the decommitment itself - has never sat well with me, especially considering his dad's ties to App.

Sometimes parents push kids to make decisions.

I feel the same way about our decommits, especially when I look at the records for Syracuse, Purdue and Illinois. It looks like our decoms from Iowa St. and WF are at least bowling this season.

I know what you mean. To my earlier point, though, I get that decommits are a part of the game. We probably get almost as many as we lose. If you commit to App and then later get a P5 offer and want to jump on it, fine.

Just don't come back from a visit to Ames and tell our staff nothing's changed, you're still 100% to App, then wait til the dead period and sign with someone else when you know our coaches can't call you AND can't call any fallback options for the spot you held for six months and then vacated without warning.

Especially when he had App blood. Zeb can kick some rocks and be 6-6 every year.

If a commit doesn't want us, I definitely don't want them. This is to good a place for flip floppers.

Reminds me of the scene in Jerry McGuire when dad says "My word is as strong as oak"
