Re: UNCC likely to keep Lambert
I'm sure the UNCC fans are proud of their grassroots campaign to add football, but this is what happens when you let a handful of fanboys dictate important institutional decisions.
Clearly UNCC Football was a bad idea. They've spent an ungodly amount of $$$ on this embarrassment so far, some of which came from your taxes. They should have listened to the professionals who for years knew football at UNC Charlotte was going to be a DOA waste of money.
Put this one to bed an drop football before your entire athletic department crumbles.

Re: UNCC likely to keep Lambert
I don't see how they can continue to afford the program if this is indicative of their future support. Fans seems to be falling by the wayside while Judy watches the department burn.
They had an announced attendance of 8,330 for Senior Day. They've probably had more fans than that in Halton during their glory years. The announced is much more generous than actual as there is no way the fans in the picture below would fill up half their stadium. It's time for Judy to show Lambert the door!

Judy didnt want football. Her heart ain't in it and she needs to be shown the door. She's in over her head. But not until App takes over their stadium next year.

If they thought it was bad when NC A&T brought a lot of fans this year, they haven't seen anything yet

UNCC reminds me a lot of Georgia State. A startup program in a major city expecting greatnessGonzo wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 3:34 pmI'm sure the UNCC fans are proud of their grassroots campaign to add football, but this is what happens when you let a handful of fanboys dictate important institutional decisions.

right out of the gate and instead having nothing but failure for several seasons.
GSU for it's credit seems to have finally turned the corner and is on track for another post-season appearance and until Saturday was a contender for the conference title. But it also took them close to 10 years to get to this point. Charlotte has a long way to go to get to where GSU is.

I wonder if CUSA regrets not picking us? All in all, Charlotte will enter the 2018 season with a 17-40 record and just four wins through 23 games in Conference USA play.

I wish it had been this year so the back up QB's could have gotten significant playing time ...........starting in the second quarter.

Re: UNCC likely to keep Lambert
When UNCC got the invitation from CUSA before even playing their first game, this was the most likely outcome. They gambled that the CUSA affiliation would boost recruiting and speed their rise, but it simply takes time. I don't know if Lambert has what it takes or not, but that record is hard to support from a program / financial perspective.
Obviously the fans are leaving in mass. What do his players think of him?

Re: UNCC likely to keep Lambert
All morning in WFNZ sports radio in Charlotte it has been a ripfest on UNCC. The "fans" are destroying Lambert and Rose. She will announce her retirement before year end I'm betting.
Now having said that the fans are pathetic and getting what they deserve.

Re: UNCC likely to keep Lambert
Well, since we are back on this subject anyway...
Charlotte being this bad actually worries me. I want them to be a 5-6 team, not a 1-11. 5-6 makes change difficult for them as an institution. I would not be stunned to see their AD gone in the next year or two unless things turn around. Which is bad news for us. Many of you can scoff all you want, but a young, energized AD in Charlotte with the resources that could be tapped there scares me long term.
Mediocre UNCC is the best UNCC.

Re: UNCC likely to keep Lambert
On the bright side, a down and out UNCC will be a welcome site for our new QB who would probably like to get his head back on straight after the Penn State game. There will be a lot of unknowns next season for us.ah59396 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 11:29 amWell, since we are back on this subject anyway...

Rose said she wouldn’t use the program’s five-year history as an excuse for the 2017 record, but that it’s a legitimate contributing factor.
Rose says: “I compare it to a child who had his fifth birthday. This may sound crazy. That 5-year old isn’t as good with decision-making and performing as a 12-year-old. The experience is not there. Hopefully we will get wiser and stronger as we grow older with the football program. We have had those discussions. Our goal is to be bowl-eligible, just like everybody else in the country.

UNCC Chancellor was on WFNZ this morning. Doesn't sound like he has any intention of firing Rose ever. If they want to get rid of Rose, have to get rid of him as well.
