Not for me either.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 2:10 pmWake now with more points two minutes into the 2Q than they scored the entire game against us. That loss hasn't stopped stinging yet.
It does still sting. We beat them everywhere but the scoreboard. It was so disappointing to lose that one.CVAPP wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 2:16 pmNot for me either.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 2:10 pmWake now with more points two minutes into the 2Q than they scored the entire game against us. I'm still convinced that if we would have beaten Wake Forest, we would have gone undefeated the rest of the way and finished ranked inside the top 10/15 with our only loss coming at the hands of a highly ranked UGA team on the road and in the first game of the season.Lowcountry App wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 2:33 pmIt does still sting. I don't think a win against Wake would have prevented injuries to Stringer and others. I don't recall precisely when the mid-season injury bug bit us, but I don't remember us being too banged up against Wake.Peter Venkman wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 2:46 pmI'm still convinced that if we would have beaten Wake Forest, we would have gone undefeated the rest of the way and finished ranked inside the top 10/15 with our only loss coming at the hands of a highly ranked UGA team on the road and in the first game of the season.
That Wake Forest game had the chance to be a true game changer for the program. Imagine how it would have affected in-state recruiting.
I'd rank it #2 behind Army/San Diego St., but it was a heck of a game.MountaineerMafia wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 5:12 pmBest game of the bowl season so far. Hate we couldn't beat Wake earlier this season but that was a fun game to watch!
We gave that game to Wake. My stomach still churns when I think back to that one and the Tennessee game Iast year. What should have been...Lowcountry App wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 2:33 pmIt does still sting. We beat them everywhere but the scoreboard. If that receiver had not been touched it would have still been a heckuva grab for him bring that ball in. It may have been a make up call for one they missed earlier where a Wake receiver was clearly held but no flag was tossed. Or, they just didn't think it was a catchable ball. I don't think it was a game changer. Both teams had plenty of opportunities to overcome adversity, and or simply play a little bit of defense. I think we would have beaten either team today had we been selected for the Belk Bowl.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 5:17 pmWake gets away with a PI in the last minute of a tight game (feels familiar), but this time no makeup call the next play.
