Re: Final AP
I do find it interesting that we didn't get any votes for blowing out the MAC champion in the bowl.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 11:35 amLink below

Re: Final AP
Lot of teams are over ranked heavily in that final poll.....not saying we are worthy of top 25 but that is a piece of crap final poll.

Re: Final AP
We had our chances and didn't deliver. Should have beaten Wake and then lost to a bad UMass team and UL-Monroe team. Toledo was our only quality win of the year. Not a knock, just looking at it without blinders on.

Re: Final AP
Now that we actually have a kicker that can get it through the uprights, going forward, hopefully those close games will turn in our favorwilsonappman wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 11:46 amWe had our chances and didn't deliver. Re: Final AP
Speaking of Wake, am I missing something? Troy got 14 votes and Wake, who finished 5th in the 14 team ACC and beat Texas A&M in the Belk Bowl got zero? I'm not saying Wake should be ranked, but no votes?

Re: Final AP
This makes no sense to me either. I am convinced that they just put all of the teams with a winning record on a board and throw darts to get their teams in the 15-25 range.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 12:22 pmSpeaking of Wake, am I missing something? Re: Final AP
Yeah we had a better year last year and got no votes then. No way we were getting votes this year.wilsonappman wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 11:46 amWe had our chances and didn't deliver. Re: Final AP
I have no problem with Troy receiving some votes as they had an overall better season than App with the big LSU win. Maybe a lot of people didn't notice the 4-1 Belt bowl record highlighted by App's destruction of Toledo but I guarantee fans/followers of G5 teams did.

Re: Final AP
I started this in other schools athletics and made no mention of App on purpose. I agree with the poster who said we had our chances. This could have been a season where we actually cracked the top 25. Easily could have been a one loss. Injuries and mistakes, oh well.

Re: Final AP
Win those 3 games and we're in the top 25. Pretty simple.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Re: Final AP
We did receive 2 votes (Wake received 3) in the Amway coaches poll:

Re: Final AP
One game isn't going to get us ranked. Why would anyone expect a 9-4 Sunbelt team to get ranked in the top 25? If we had played the entire season like we played the last four games, we would have been 12-1 or 11-2 at worst. THEN, maybe we would have gotten some votes or been ranked.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 11:42 amI do find it interesting that we didn't get any votes for blowing out the MAC champion in the bowl.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 11:35 amLink below

Re: Final AP
Overall, we under performed for the season based on expectations and our team's capabilities. Barely beating several very weak teams and losing to two (UMass/ULM). We played down a lot.
The team did a good job of salvaging some good things out of season (i.e. SBC Co-Champion, complete demolition of Toledo). We finished strong and I am proud of that.
We have to step up our game and improve our performance in future seasons to be one of the best of G5s and end in top 25, which should be our year over year goal.
