Cobb and Elliot putting together nice football schedule
Nice home and home arrangements with ECU, Army among others. I imagine Atlanta is attractive sell for them to recruit in Georgia. GaSo must be jealous.

Nice home and home with ECU, Army and UNC. I did not see WVU on GSt schedule.

Good catch. I miss read. It is ECU who moved a home game with WV. Thanks.

Only because he singlehandedly ruined our basketball program (or at least finished the job).

Re: Cobb and Elliot putting together nice football schedule
If Georgia State scheduling a few football games doesn't turn into occasion for a five-page thread arguing about Charlie Cobb's tenure as App's AD, I'm going to really be disappointed in this board.

I wouldn’t say ONLY that. It was certainly up there, but the Coach Moore debacle was pretty bad too

Re: Cobb and Elliot putting together nice football schedule
Shouldn't be too difficult to pull some good teams or higher profile name teams into Atlanta. I'm sure many schools recruit that area pretty hard. No reason for them not to have a nice schedule.

Plus you don't have to brave the wilderness like when traveling to Boone

Plus they have a better chance of winning than they would in Boone.

Re: Cobb and Elliot putting together nice football schedule
SE is only the "enemy" for one game per year.
Cobb did some good things for App...mostly in football. I don't hate him but I do think he stayed beyond his expiration date. The two issues already mentioned were the primary things I didn't like about him. He didn't do a great job with coaching hires in general, excluding Satterfield which was a no-brainer and required no effort.
GSU could become a good rival if things continue the way they are headed. GS will be back though.

Re: Cobb and Elliot putting together nice football schedule
Elliot could be our next HC. I think we have a little interest in seeing him do well.
