ODU hosts VT next week. Not going to be pretty.

That’s ugly football. Britton Banowsky, you are gone now, but you built this.

Take out Taylor Heinecke and ODU has been really bad.

We beat the top team in CUSA.

CUSA is FAU, North Texas, LaTech, FIU, probably in that order, and a whole lot of ugh.

Marshall hasn't looked great, WKU is a dumpster fire, MTSU is meh, ODU might go 2-10, UNCC exists, SoMiss lost to ULM, UTSA has looked bad, Rice is Rice, UAB got smoked by Coastal and UTEP is UTEP.

FIU almost lost to ODU last week to boot.

FBS should trade Conference USA to FCS for the Missouri Valley

So Miss is probably still a good bit better than UNCC. Holding ULM to 14 offensive points is good compared to us last year.

ZBOX would not put their name on this game.

Looking back, maybe losing by 32 to Liberty was our first subtle clue.

ODU ready for a new coach.

Could be, but if they fire him, they should fire the AD who hired him, also.

Why fire the AD? Bobby Wilder has been the HC for a while. He started the program, and did well at ODU for a while, but it might be time to move on. How is that the AD’s fault?

When one employee screws up, he should share the blame with the one who screwed up by hiring him/her. Simple as that. Moving on by one's own volition is different from having to be fired. A person who is in a hiring capacity is hired partly for his/her ability to judge character as well as to measure competence and potential. For example, I applaud Cobb for hiring Satterfield, but denigrate him for hiring our failure UNC-Chapel Hill basketball coach (who shall remain unnamed) who had to be let go. So Cobb gets a 50% and no more. Just an example.

If you’re saying he needs to answer for keeping him (not necessarily by losing his job), then I can agree. But four or five years ago, Bobby Wilder looked to be a home run hire. He also had them in a bowl a couple of years ago, so I can see why he’d have earned some rope to hang himself, but I do believe Wood Selig (ODU’s AD) has held onto Wilder for entirely too long. And that’s a fair question.

ODU is 72-39 under Wilder and won the conference and bowl game in 2016. You can argue that it might be time for them to move on but it's crazy to suggest it was a bad hire and the AD should be held accountable.

Looks like their success was overly dependent on a few strong players recently. They have looked bad
