Re: Troy vs Nebraska
Yeah sloppy game but scary. We’ll have our hands full when we play them. Hope they get the win today though.

Troy v Nebraska
Troy is putting it to Nebraska currently....
Nebraska does not look that good though. They have been undisciplined and slow. Troy looks like they would be vulnerable to our speed and misdirection.

Let’s go troy!
Bring some positive recognition and respect to the Sun Belt.
Also - I think we win all our games, so I’m pulling for all of our opponents on the weeks they don’t play us!

24-13 with 6 to go. Troy going to Lincoln and winning is a big deal regardless of how good Nebraska is currently. This will do wonders for their confidence.

Re: Troy v Nebraska
Troy is clearly the better team today, their defense will be one of the better ones we see this year.
This would be very good for the conference. 12 OOC wins - I predicted 17 for the season.
Oops nebraska just scored.

Re: Troy v Nebraska
Good for Troy, they help bring relevance to the conference, which we should reep the rewards for. ULM always plays P5 teams and gets smoked, Arkansas State always gets smoked by P5s (or any out of conference game for that matter), and we always take on Top 10s and have moral victories.
Nebraska looks bad, but a P5 win is a P5 win.

Nebraska is certainly not the power house of old, but still a win over Nebraska is certainly something to be proud of.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 2:06 pmGood for Troy, they help bring relevance to the conference, which we should reep the rewards for. Re: Troy v Nebraska
Too many games to be played to know how each will come to that game. I suspect Troy will continue to improve and this will be a boost for their confidence. Their pretty stout on defense. Should/ could be an epic game. Again, we have a lot to accomplish before we can worry about Troy.

Re: Troy v Nebraska
Agree. There was nothing that worries me with what I saw. Troy has a good balance of size across the roster and relies on the grinding out of their run game peppered with option. With our defense, I think we can limit them and force them to play uncomfortably.

They're pretty stout on defense as well. We fool ourselves if we think they won't be a challenge. Downgrading their win today might make you feel better but we would be crowing if we did what they pulled off today. Something we haven't done in quite a while, they've done it two years in a row.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 2:43 pmAgree. There was nothing that worries me with what I saw. Re: Troy v Nebraska
I'm not downplaying it, it's a great win for Troy and the Belt. There has been many years where I felt we could put it to mid tier P5 competition, it's nice to see teams like Troy prove it lately. My focus is on what I saw from Troy. They muddy up the game and use their size and strength to wear you down. For App, that can be a good thing as we tend to know how to take advantage of teams that rely on pace of play and size. Their RB is a load and can really wear a defense down. If we can force three and outs and give ZT and company opportunities, we should be able to handle Troy without question.hapapp wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 3:35 pmThey're pretty stout on defense as well. No downplaying here, just honest assessment based on observation.

True, they have finished the job against P5 competition, we continue to come close but no cigar.hapapp wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 3:35 pmThey're pretty stout on defense as well.
