Satt's next conference championship
Satterfield's next conference championship will probably have to go through Clemson.... "Nuf said". He'll earn his 3.25 M if he can do it.

Re: Satt's next conference championship
Do you get a sense that Satt's the kind of guy who took that job despite that challenge? Or because of that challenge?
We'll be fine and he's not scared.

Re: Satt's next conference championship
Florida State will also bounce back, and Syracuse will no longer be the easy homecoming game they once were. Definitely going to be a challenge. I am sure the expectations aren't that high initially. I'm sure they just want to see the team compete again.

He gets to start in grand fashion. Labor Day evening at home against Notre Dame. Welcome to the P5.

This needs to be moved to "Other school's athletics"
Satterfield has nothing to do with App football anymore. Lets ponder Louisville's future elsewhere

Re: Satt's next conference championship
This isn't a shot at Satt, but Louisville will never finish higher than 3rd in that division during his tenure.

Re: Satt's next conference championship
Satt bought a Ferrari (Perennial playoff team) when he got the App head coaching job. He maintained the Ferrari and tweaked it. Now he has bought a Yugo( comparing UL to the powers in P5) and has to build it into a contender. We shall see. I wish him luck. This is his real chance to prove what kind of coach he is. A less than superior coach could have won with the keys he was handed. I think he’s good. I won’t go great yet.
Re: Satt's next conference championship
Agree that he's not great - but don't agree with the Ferrari assessment at all. If you couldn't see that we were flagging as a program in the latter years of Coach Moore, I can't help you. There were a lot of internal issues. That 4-8 record Satt's first year, as well as our start in '15, was a good indicator of that.Apptrain wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:19 amSatt bought a Ferrari (Perennial playoff team) when he got the App head coaching job. He didn't win at the FBS level because the previous staff set us up for that...there were a few FCS guys who helped early to be sure, but this year's team was built by his staff.
Louisville will undoubtedly be a tougher build - but like us (relative to our level of competition) they have the facilities, community and fan engagement to help him along.

Re: Satt's next conference championship
As for his next chapter the one game I will definitely pull for him to win is against Clemson and maybe the holes. Other than that, good luck but no real emotional investment.

Re: Satt's next conference championship
I guess Satterfield will get a quick lesson in negative publicity and a much more active local media than what he had in Boone. Plus, it sounds like he just made hid AD look bad. Not a great start.HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 12:59 amPulling recruits scholarship offers....

Re: Satt's next conference championship
This has been discussed in another thread. He's doing what it takes to turn the program around and it's probably best in the long run for those de-committed kids to go to a program where their skills and talents will fit in better. Sucks for those kids now, but probably better in the long run. Satt didn't make a commitment to those kids, the AD did.

Re: Satt's next conference championship
A thread such as this one makes us look like a bunch of bitter people. My god let the man go. Big time coaches are a small group. I hope he does well and is successful in life and in his career. This stuff with the recruits is just part of the crappy side of college athletics. Kids change their minds all the time before signing day and it’s only fair that a school can do the same thing. Stinks but until the system changes that’s just the way it is.

Former Louisville DE Elvis Dumervil is very much alive. Wait...who are we talking about?!WataugaMan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 10:01 amIt's time we realize that Elvis is dead, and Satt is gone, damn it!!
Re: Satt's next conference championship
Right. Sounds like Louisville had one of the worst P5 recruiting classes in the country. Keeping the guys that are the cause of that isn’t in his best interests, nor the programs.Rick83 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 9:54 amThis has been discussed in another thread. But yeah - he will be much more scrutinized there. And I’m sure, even I’m Louisville, there are pro-UK media members that will do what they can to portray him poorly. That’s just something we don’t face.
