They should be. There is no excuse for any SEC team to ever lose to a SBC team. Look at it this way. Had Tennessee offered any of those GSU players they would have gone there.
I heard that Smokie, the mascot, has entered the Transfer Portal.

Super happy for Georgia State. Finished what we couldn’t. Now let’s take care of them too. Could be a sleeper in the east.

The Tennessee team we faced had Kamara and Hurd, won 9 games including Florida and Georgia. This UT team might not win 5 games.

If Georgia State can knock of Western Michigan on the road, they could be 4-0. Next three are Furman, WMU and then Texas State.

Comparing this UT team to the one we played is crazy. UT is a dumpster fire with a severe lack of talent and the talent they do have is clearly lacking motivation and inspiration.

I was going to further your point - didn't realize there were this many --- sorry to take up so much space

MEMBERS OF 2017 TENN VOLS IN NFL ---
> Joshua Dobbs (Fourth-round pick, 2017): One of the best quarterbacks to ever play for the Vols, Dobbs earned his roster spot going into his second NFL season and was Pittsburgh's backup to Ben Roethlisberger last season.
> DB Cameron Sutton (Third-round pick, 2017): Sutton has 27 tackles, four pass breakups and an interception in 20 career games with the Steelers the past two seasons.
> RB Alvin Kamara (Third-round pick, 2017): After two underutilized seasons at Tennessee, Kamara has become one of the top playmakers in the NFL, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2017 and making the Pro Bowl again in 2018. He has 34 total touchdowns in 35 career NFL games.
> DT Shy Tuttle (Undrafted, 2019): The former top-100 prospect's Tennessee promising career was derailed by significant injuries during his freshman and sophomore seasons, but he played his best football in 2018 and it was enough to earn him a shot with New Orleans, though the Saints haven't announced his signing.
CAROLINA PANTHERS
> DB Rashaan Gaulden (Third-round pick, 2018): The versatile, hard-hitting defensive back was Tennessee's best defensive player in 2017 and was the No. 85 overall pick last year, and as a rookie he made 17 tackles in 15 games playing as a defensive reserve and on special teams.
> LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin (Fourth-round, 2017): The versatile linebacker has 43 tackles and two pass breakups in 23 games in two seasons for the Lions, but is coming off an injury-plagued 2018 season.
> OL Kahlil McKenzie (Sixth-round, 2018): The former five-star prospect played defensive tackle for three seasons at Tennessee, but the Chiefs drafted him and moved him to offensive guard, though he did not make his NFL debut during his rookie season in 2018.
DENVER BRONCOS
> LB Alexander (A.J.) Johnson (Undrafted, 2018): The big, imposing linebacker was on track to be drafted in 2015 when he was accused and charged with rape, but after he was found not guilty at his trial last year, he signed with Denver during preseason and played in one game last season.
> P Trevor Daniel (Undrafted, 2018): The former walk-on was a revelation as Tennessee's punter for three years, and he remarkably beat out future Hall of Famer Shane Lechler to win Houston's punting job in preseason. As a rookie last season, Daniel ranked among the NFL's best in terms of punts inside the 20 and fewest return yards allowed.
TENNESSEE TITANS
> OLB LaTroy Lewis (Undrafted, 2017): Lewis signed with Raiders after going undrafted, but didn't stick with the team despite returning a fumble for a touchdown in a preseason game in 2017. The Texans signed him later in 2017 and promoted him to the active roster late that season. The Titans added him to their practice squad midseason in 2018 after he among Houston's final preseason cuts.
> LB Quart'e Sapp (Undrafted, 2019): Sapp surprisingly declared for the NFL Draft after his redshirt junior season with the Vols, but will get a chance with the Titans, who have not announced his signing, after going undrafted.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
> DE Derek Barnett (First-round pick, 2017): Tennessee's career sacks leader was the No. 14 overall pick two years ago and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl as a rookie, but after ascending into the starting lineup early last season he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury after seven games.
BUFFALO BILLS
> TE Jason Croom (Undrafted, 2017): The converted wide receiver initially signed with Buffalo after going undrafted and was cut twice in preseason before the Bills brought him back to their practice squad late in 2017. He earned a roster spot as the team's No. 2 tight end last preseason and caught 22 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown last season.
> DB Emmanuel Moseley (Undrafted, 2018): The cornerback signed a post-draft deal with the 49ers, who cut him at the end of training camp and brought him back as part of their practice squad. After San Francisco gave him a rookie-level contract and elevating him to the active roster, Moseley made his NFL debut in Week 9 last season, but suffered a season-ending shoulder injury on one of his three special-teams snaps in the game.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
> FB Jakob Johnson (Undrafted, 2017): The former Tennessee linebacker and tight end,who originally is from Germany, signed a deal with the Patriots earlier this month as part of the NFL's International Player Pathway program, which will permit four teams (all of the AFC East) to carry an additional overseas player on their practice squad.
NEW YORK JETS
> DE Kyle Phillips (Undrafted, 2019): The versatile defensive lineman was Tennessee's best hope of having a player drafted this year, but despite a solid senior season he was not picked and signed a free-agent deal with the Jets, who have not announced the signing.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
> DB Micah Abernathy (Undrafted, 2019): The 30-game starter in Tennessee's secondary the past three seasons inked a post-draft free-agent deal with the Vikings, likely due to his strong showing at Tennessee's Pro Day in March. Minnesota has announced Abernathy's signing and added him to their official roster.
LOS ANGELES RAMS
> RB John Kelly (Sixth-round pick, 2018): Kelly didn't make his NFL debut last season until Week 15, but he totaled 74 yards on 27 carries and caught two passes for 27 yards during the final three games of the season while also playing on the kickoff team for the Super Bowl-losing Rams, who drafted Memphis running back Darrell Henderson in the third round this week to bolster their non-Todd Gurley options.
CINCINNATI BENGALS
> WR Josh Malone (Fourth-round, 2017): The former five-star prospect started seven games and caught six passes for 63 yards with a touchdown against the Colts in Week 8 of his rookie season, but he was rarely active and battled a hamstring injury in catching one pass in nine games last season.

Wonder if Elliott incurred any injuries while high-fiving his players?!? He had to be pretty jacked up...

And it happened again with us. With all the resources they have there is no reason for a SBC team to beat a SEC team but it has happened multiple times this year now. Love beating the ACC and SEC any chance our league has to do it.

I loved hearing the ESPN guys talking about how Elliot said beating us Saturday would've been the biggest win in program history. Bigger even than the Tennessee win...think about that...an App program, only 5 years into the FBS world, and we're the coveted team to take down. Still amazes me..

App essentially occupies that "upper-middle class" realm of college football right now. We're not in the elite, world owning 1%, but we're pretty darn high up the chain and there are a lot of programs who would give their left one for a taste of our success (including every team in the Sun Belt). We must continue to work for every opportunity and strive to grow, instead of resting on our laurels and assuming that we will always be great. We must also work to continue to be humble (though many would argue we are not humble now, I would say we mostly are - we haven't made and mythical championship rings yet :) ).
Give 'em hell!
