Stinksboro
What happened to the Gnats? Why did they go from winning 10 last year to being lucky if they win 6 this year?

Re: Stinksboro
Haven't watched them but I would venture a guess would be that since Werts was injured in game 1 against LSU and hasn't played since is a major factor.

Re: Stinksboro
It is a combination of Werts being out, although their backup wasn’t bad, and they aren’t surviving off of that insane turnover margin that they benefitted from.

Re: Stinksboro
They benefited from a lot of turnovers last year, so that can be hard to replicate. Also, their losses have come to LSU, Minnesota and ULL, so I wouldn't write them off yet (although they've looked pretty bad in every game but Minnesota, from what I gather).

Re: Stinksboro
And Minnesota is not as good as their record suggests. They are a fart away from being 0-4 against not great teams. Once they get to the meat of their conference play their record should self correct.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 1:25 pmThey benefited from a lot of turnovers last year, so that can be hard to replicate. On a side note I have great distaste for PJ Fleck; comes off as a quintessential douchebag.

Re: Stinksboro
I don't disagree with any of that, but still, to have them all but beaten before a classic GS collapse is a pretty solid effort on the road for a Sun Belt team, especially missing their starting QB.NavyApp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 1:38 pmAnd Minnesota is not as good as their record suggests. As mediocre as Minnesota looks, they could easily get to 8-0 before they hit the tougher part of their schedule.

Re: Stinksboro
So, all of the SBC East teams lost their conference openers except for us. That's awesome...

Re: Stinksboro
Most certainly that would have been a good win for the conference but Minnesota is not a good football team this year.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 1:47 pmI don't disagree with any of that, but still, to have them all but beaten before a classic GS collapse is a pretty solid effort on the road for a Sun Belt team, especially missing their starting QB.NavyApp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 1:38 pmAnd Minnesota is not as good as their record suggests. I watched South Ally play Nebraska in the opener and it was a game. I don’t know their story but it doesn’t look good.
