Eh, if you want to take a stand, suspend him. This is just embarrassing him (of course Swinney had to tell the media about it) without running any risk of affecting the ol' bottom line.

I’m a Dabo fan but the first thing that came to mind for me was if taking the bus home was a big punishment for the player then why are the team managers riding the bus to and from the game. Are those folks not part of the team? I understand that equipment has to go to and from the game but that takes a driver and a truck, not a bus.

I am not always sure in every case a suspension is the best - it is a team game and missing one key part over a stupid action (not a police action) could negatively effect the team - don't think that sends the correct message either ---

If the young man doesn’t learn from this teachable moment, I doubt he will stay on Clemson’s roster.

To me - embarrassing a kid is what that bum Pruitt - Tennessee HC - did to his QB in the Bama game - if you didn't see it I suggest checking it out --- plus he spent the entire game bitching at the refs on just about every play - Totally marked him off my list of coaches I would pull for

TBF to Pruitt, the QB apparently went rogue on a goalline play and it cost them the game.

Still, grabbing a player's facemask in any matter isn't good and should be avoided, IMO. You can get the point across without getting physical with the player.

And not screaming and pointing at him as he is coming off the field - sit him down on the bench and chew him out all you wish - DON'T go out on the field and "attack" him. Has the "going rogue" been confirmed or is it still just speculation? - Also who called the previous 3 plays which failed to score? -

Going rogue is speculation, but there's some good evidence. Pruitt and the players called it a "miscommunication." You don't pull a guard and run a QB sneak.

Again - my question is this - who screwed up the previous 3 plays? - The QB? - I doubt it - 3 plays from the 2 and can't score and then blame the QB on 4th down - My opinion - the coach is an asshole ---

1st & Goal at ALA 2
(9:10 - 4th) Tim Jordan run for a loss of 1 yard to the Alab 3

2nd & Goal at ALA 3
(8:29 - 4th) Tim Jordan run for 1 yd to the Alab 2

3rd & Goal at ALA 2
(7:55 - 4th) Quavaris Crouch run for 1 yd to the Alab 1

4th & Goal at ALA 1
(7:21 - 4th) Jarrett Guarantano run for 1 yd Jarrett Guarantano fumbled, recovered by Alab Trevon Diggs , return for 100 yds, (Joseph Bulovas KICK)

Coach can be an asshole and the QB can make a bonehead decision. They're not mutually exclusive.

True - if you saw the game or the replay you saw the coach being an asshole but so far, all I have heard is speculation that the QB changed the play - either way, they had 4 downs from the 2 yard line and couldn't score and I don't put all 4 failed plays on the QB - do you?

Here is the deal: Pruitt is currently not a good Head coach, not at the P5 level or any level. People can put this on the QB if they want, but if he was coached better does he go "rogue". During his entire tenure his players have made bone headed decisions on and off the field and its always the players fault. Yes the players are most certainly accountable but when this becomes more than isolated incidents to me it reflects the lack of positive leadership. UT is a mess, Pruitt is not the answer.
