FSU fires Willie Taggart

Kinda surprised that he didn't get one more year. He was terrible, but that's a hefty buyout.

Jimbo put that program in such dire straits, from bringing in players with questionable pasts, to have zero discipline for the players. This has been documented ad nauseum since he left. Taggart never had a chance, but it's what he gets for bolting from Oregon after one year. I also think it's funny that FSU thinks they are getting Urban, there are only two places he will coach next year: Notre Dame or USC. It will be interesting to see what they bring in and how far they fall over the next few years.

Saw an article last week saying they already lost $10MM this year in sales and support. Was cheaper in the long run to pay the buyout than continue.

Lol! That's so on brand for them; paying 18 million in a buyout and spinning it as the cheaper option. That fan base is in for a rude wake up call when next year is more of the same. I highly doubt they make the right hire, more than likely a "salesman" who will give them more of the same. Until the powers that be are honest with themselves about the state of their football program things will not change.

I would have gone with desperation but insanity works.
