Note to self: Remember when posting ANYTHING relating to Liberty to be prepared for a few pages of somewhat off-topic religious based friendly banter. I've made this mistake before...you think I would have learned, but alas, my "Liberty Facilities Update" has delved into Vaginal probing, etc. Have to love an involved fan base I suppose!!

You must have them confused with UNC-G.
Pitchers and catchers have already reported.

Sorry hap. There were enough jokes and I shouldn't have gone there. Got caught in the moment. My apologies.hapapp wrote:I'm so glad I brought up this example.

That is one fine baseball stadium Liberty built. Wish we had employed some professionals who do that sort of thing for a living instead of going cheap and doing it in house. Now we are faced with having to re-do many parts of it. I know, I know... its better than what we had. The trouble is - as is with most of our facilities - they could have been much better for about the same $'s.

Good point. I agree that Smith Stadium is a fine stadium, but you can tell that it was built a "bit on the cheap"...simply in the design. I know that space limitations up there might have had something to do with some things but nonetheless dirt can be moved. At the new Liberty Stadium the area where the outfield was constructed basically did not exist...it had to be built up. If you look at some aerials you can see just beyond the outfield is a large series of retaining walls, with a road down below. From the road I believe it is about 80 to 100 feet that had to be built up to allow for the field to "fit". Here is a link to a few more pictures, official university pictures, of the Liberty Baseball Stadium, including some great close ups of the scoreboard that is as good or better than our board a t KBS, and you can also see the construction continuing on what will eventually be the baseball club room, coaches offices, dedicated weight room, etc. Impressive stuff!Kgfish wrote:That is one fine baseball stadium Liberty built.
