To be entirely fair our stadium is named after a man who was sentenced to 18 months in state prison for bid rigging.

Correct. “Kid Brewer” lived one heck of a story. Should be a movie.

Brewer ran for governor of NC.

Lieutenant Governor actually, also does not negate the fact that he did what he did. I am not saying we should change our name or am I trying to disparage the name of a fellow Sailor (one who gave much more than I). I'm just saying maybe it shouldn't be us casting stones.

True, but ran for Governor in 1964, also.

Thanks for your comments, NavyApp. I want to assure you that my intent was not to cast stones at GSU, hence, my posting of the article without commentary. I do see this sort of article as newsworthy, perhaps, because of my own career in accounting and my understanding of how these sorts of things can impact the ordinary investor.

Fair winds and following seas.

DaphneUrquhart I never once believed you had any ill intent. You have always been the one voice of reason here on this board! I honestly just wanted to be ahead of some other folks on here who like to fling some mud without taking into account who we are and where we come from! My apologies, I truly appreciate all of your contributions to this board and to our APPALACHIAN STATE!

Go! Fight! Kick-Ass!

UNCC has more of an issue with their stadium name than either GSU or us..... Just saying.
