Ouch! Welcome to the SEC Drink.
I imagine Drink's ego took a hit on that one. I understand the reason for the flip, but man was that a harsh way to go about it.

Not much different with how we landed Smith this morning. He showed up in UCF gear and then busted out the App shirt.

This happens all the time. It is a pleasant surprise to land a UCF commit.

It's in the Other Schools' Athletics folder.
Don't open it if you don't want to read it.

I did want to read it, so i opened it, and then i even commented! Just a childish, jealous ex type of look. Would be nice if App was bigger than being the jealous ex but i see some of us aren’t.

Yep, I was going to post the same thing. Like some of us had been hinting at, Drink had a lot of red flags when it came to locker room stuff and the way he was dealing with players/people. This is just an example. For Drink’s sake, I hope he continues to mature and learns what is important.

I saw some of the stuff your talking about but we have to remember that these are 18 year old kids. We all know Satt is a great guy and I remember reading a story last year about him getting banned from recruiting at a high school in Louisville.appstatealum wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 3:44 pmYep, I was going to post the same thing. Re: Ouch! Welcome to the SEC Drink.
It does happen a lot. I don't know the new Arkansas staff to know. I hope we never do that though. Several SEC schools lie blatantly to recruits just to sign them. I want us to honor what we say and be open and honest. There is no reason to deceive the kids. If the kid only comes to play a position that you know he can't play then you don't want him. We need to be known as an honest staff.diehardapp18 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 4:02 pmI will bet any of you $10 (through Venmo) that this guy plays LB at Arkansas
I know a big raise was nice for DJ Smith but I bet you money he will wish he did not take the money to continue working with a guy like Drink.

We have a lot of kids come in at one position and end up playing another. I agree that if a kid says I only want to play X and you know he’s not going to play that position you shouldn’t tell him he will play that position. But things do change and sometimes for the better.

Re: Ouch! Welcome to the SEC Drink.
That was for a completely different situation that Satterfield was banned by a high school coach from recruiting his players. Satt took back 2 scholarships from players that were committed to Louisville prior to his arrival, but didn’t fit his scheme.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 5:32 pmI saw some of the stuff your talking about but we have to remember that these are 18 year old kids. Is anyone else surprised no recruits flipped to Missouri? Their class wasn’t very strong.

Re: Ouch! Welcome to the SEC Drink.
I wonder how Mark Speir did with recruiting, or Shawn Elliott....Lonnie Galloway land some good WRs?
No, like Drink and Satterfield I don't give a shit about what they're doing with recruiting. We've got a special coach that is passionate about Appalachian State, which is bringing in very talented players to Boone. That's all I care about...not a Louisville team that will struggle to even finish second in their division or a Missouri team that will become bowl eligible MAYBE by their 11th game.
Let's celebrate what we have today, and treat Drink and Satt like what they are...a thing of the past. I thank them both for coaching teams to successful historical seasons, but now its Coach Clark time.
