Now up 28 on SMU. Definitely a little shocked with that.

We may find the AAC isn’t that much ahead of the other G5 conferences.

42-14
SMU is getting railroaded.

Wonder if they’re deflated they’re not in the Cotton Bowl or of FAU is making a statement.

I am thinking FAU may be making a statement. I'm not shocked at FAU winning but I expected it to be very close like 3-7 points if they did. Perhaps SMU disappointed but they did not win the AAC so they knew they had no shot. Hopefully we throttle UAB or else FAU is going to have an argument to be where we are in the rankings. They scored well on Ohio State but got hammered by UCF and lost to Marshall. They are certainly looking better than they were. However, our loss to GSU just looked worse as they lost to Liberty.

I always hate the “excuse” that a team basically isn’t trying because they are disappointed not being in another bowl. If that’s the case the school wasted a lot of money sending the team wherever they ended up. That’s piss poor.

I agree with you, but it does happen. I don't understand it, but it definitely happened last year with Georgia. They seemed lethargic in their bowl game against Texas. I get being disappointed over a disappointing loss to Bama (again) in the SEC Championship game but I don't understand how a team just no-shows for a game like that. SMU seemed unmotivated also. That said, I do think they were over rated . They should have had time to get used to the idea of not winning the AAC since they were out of the conversation for a few weeks, but whatever. I would think having the best season is almost 40 years would keep a team motivated. Again....I don't think it's an "excuse" but it's definitely a phenomenon that happens. It does seem to be a huge waste of the schools/team's money.
