I'm sure the media will have fun with this one. That said, I feel terrible for anyone who has/will have lifelong complications from this.

I’m just wondering if this would spark the SBC to reverse course on fall season plans (ala Big10)...

Does it say how he contracted the virus? Was it due to football activities or outside of football?

I think this points to the positives of the football testing procedures. Without the testing, he probably doesn't discover this issue. He is now able to be treated because the problem has been discovered.

I feel extremely bad for this kid for his football career AND life. That being said, I would be very cautious about jumping to conclusions too quickly that all of this is solely or partially due to his COVID situation. There are too many facets of entities and people that have agendas and interests related to this type of situation that makes me say, "Let's wait until ALL the facts come out before I formulate my opinion". This may be the obvious but it also may be something else behind the scenes that we are totally unaware of.

Warm Take:
There is more of a chance that a football player sustains a life-changing injury during a routine play than a football player having life-long consequences from contracting Covid 19. If these boys are old enough and mature enough to decide that they want to continue to play football, a sport with basically a 100% injury rate, then they are capable of making the decision to play knowing they may contract a novel coronavirus.
I'm not one of these folks who thinks the virus is fake, or overblown by the media, or being used by Democrats to win the election. However, I'd say it's relatively safe to play football. Now, whether fans are allowed in the stadiums to watch the games is a different story entirely...

You can’t transmit a concussion or torn ACL. It has been noted that this virus has produced heart issues in some. The chance of infection from this virus is likely with physical contact. We still don’t know what we don’t know about COVID.

It's interesting to me that people with agendas always accuse others of having agendas.

This kid is from my area. Went to Chapman High School in Inman, SC and won the 3A SC title last year. Same high school as our WR Richard Tucker. Praying for a quick and complete recovery.

Kid put up a very responsible post on social media. Positive outlook and gave credit to the testing and process. Football Bruh, developing kids like this is why it's so important to continue sports. Hope it goes well for him.
