The other games thread (CCU vs da Camels, Sat games too)
We play Campbell next, so I'm taking a good look at them.
But ESPN just showed the famous David Bennett clip ("we need more dawgs!") and I'm crying laughing. I live in Myrtle and met him a couple of times. That guy was a good old fashioned southern football coach, much like Orgeron. Where ever he is, I hope he's doing well.

Looks like either CCU is much improved this season, or GaSo was garbage last week (the jury is out as to whether or not the iggles are season-long garbage).
Give 'em hell!

Coastal has some good interior d linemen. Our O line is maybe our biggest strength though.
CCU 14
Campbell 0 in the 2nd quarter

Campbell was looking good on first drive then the TO. Stopped on 4th next then a FG. Campbell QB looks like a good runner but takes the bad sacks that comes with that sometimes.
Coastal starting to impress me overall. I was at the lightening game vs us last year and they hung tight until after the delay if I remember right

There is a reason why Campbell is FCS. Jimmies and the Joes just aren’t the same. I contend that Stink was relegated to FCS level with over 30 guys not available. I’m no fan of Stink but it made a huge difference. Campbell won’t be able to keep up with us. I believe our defense gives Coastal a wee bit more trouble

That’s something I’ve noticed as well. CCU can throw and run, and the Camels don’t appear to defend the pass very well.

yeah the first thing I noticed is how wide open the Chants receivers are getting. Zac and our wr corps should put up some pretty big numbers next week.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 7:55 pmThat’s something I’ve noticed as well. eta also, Coastal just blocked a PAT. Probably because it was against the Camels, but those things stand out.

That ball was never kicked. Holder didn't get it down and kicker held up.Neer86 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 7:57 pmyeah the first thing I noticed is how wide open the Chants receivers are getting. Re: The other games thread (CCU vs da Camels, Sat games too)
the halftime studio show kicked off talking about how impressive the Sun Belt conference has been, and the host asked the other 2 guys who is the best team in the conference. Joey Galloway said App St, raved about our offense, we had good graphics and highlights shown on national tv.
Other guy said Louisiana and maybe he thinks so, but ESPN talking heads are instructed to take opposing view points. Still, nice that the only national football game tonight is talking about App.

Nice announcing gig. Both guys doing the game from their homes. Still hard to believe that Campbell and CCU from Conway are on ESPN. What an insane year

IF Clark wants, Zac could throw for 400+ next week...

Says 5k for attendance.
342 is a lot of yards for Coastal to give up it seems.

Re: The other games thread (CCU vs da Camels, Sat games too)
Attendance was capped at 25% capacity (per ESPN announcers).
The Camels could move the ball, especially on the ground. They just couldn’t ever convert, nor could they stop CCU. We should have no trouble with either team.

The Coastal QB has had an impressive start to he season. Their offense is clearly much better this year.

If our defense allows the CCU receivers to run free like Campbell did we have major issues.
It’s a huge leap from Campbell to App.

Watching Louisiana and Ga St...kind of torn...if Ga St pulls off the upset, we'll move up in the rankings.
If Louisiana is undefeated when we play them, it will probably be out biggest statement game this year.

Re: The other games thread (CCU vs da Camels, Sat games too)
Why on earth are coaches and others required to wear masks on the sidelines while players are mingling like normal? Does that make any difference? Does this protocol really make a difference? Just curious
