Satt Done at UL?
He seems to have lost the fanbase over his flirting with SC.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
Maybe we will have a play calling position open soon?
I jest, but man that fan base is calling for his job. He is basically saying that he would be happier in Boone (or somewhere other than Louisville). Hate it for him, but the P5 media and fan bases will get you in trouble fast.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
Yep he just talked his way out the door.
I don't really want him back because he will just look to jump again. That has less to do with him and more to do with our program needing stability. Coastal may have an opening at the end of the year if their coach gets picked up.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
Satt offered an apology at his Monday news conference. It was a bit muddy; not sure it was well received.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
I don't know what but it seems like I've heard something is wrong in Louisville's athletic program, I know the basketball program is under investigation, but something deeper than that?
I do know they have a ton of money. Maybe he's just tired of behind the scenes stuff.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
Anybody else remember that media event when he first got to Louisville? It looked like Beth and the kids had just seen their family pet get run over by a car. Perhaps the family just doesn't like it there that much and as a loving/caring husband and father it is weighing on him. I really have no clue and it is pure speculation, but Satt is pretty guarded with "coach speak' usually so for him to actually say things that would incite the fanbase against him seems less than unintentional to me. I could be wrong, it is easy to misread situations that are far from home with no inside knowledge. Perhaps he just misspoke and dug the hole deeper as he was trying to back peddle. Whatever the case, he is an App and I hope it works out for him.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
Yes Louisville has a lot of problems within the athletics department but Coach Satterfield is not one of those problems - He turned around a 1 win program to win the ACC Coach of the Year and now they want him gone for something stupid he said???

Re: Satt Done at UL?
He only took the Louisville job for the money and they were not upset when he interviewed with them while he was still under contract at App State. Is it because the ACC is a better league and they would pay more money? Well, I got news for them the SEC is a better league and SC would pay more money. He would also be closer to home. They need to chill out because anyone in his situation would have listened as well. Louisville also has those investigations. I always said there was a reason that Louisville Alumni Jeff Brohm turned it down. I hope they realize he is a good coach and has them on the right path. They need to forget it and support him 100% moving forward.Neer86 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 2:33 pmI don't know what but it seems like I've heard something is wrong in Louisville's athletic program, I know the basketball program is under investigation, but something deeper than that?

Re: Satt Done at UL?
For Satt's sake, I hope this passes. Fans get upset in a hurry but hopefully the PTB are a little more reasonable. If he can get them back to a winning record next year this will all be forgotten.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
He interviewed with SC without informing his AD he was going to do it. He can't talk about his team as a family and then try to jump ship in the middle of the night. The fact that they are 3-7 this year doesn't help his cause. I'm sorry but this is pretty indefensible. I know he is one of us and I had no gripe when he left for UL. In fact, I watched them when on TV because of Satt and the rest of our guys that went out there. But, this is not a matter of an idiot fanbase. Satt has handled this whole situation poorly.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 2:52 pmYes Louisville has a lot of problems within the athletics department but Coach Satterfield is not one of those problems - He turned around a 1 win program to win the ACC Coach of the Year and now they want him gone for something stupid he said???

If he secures a QB that can pass as well as run. All will be good at UL. If you win, fans have selective memory

Re: Satt Done at UL?
I think he'll get a second a chance, Louisville has had a whole lot worse to deal with than an off-hand comment from an otherwise great coach and person.

It's not the off hand comment. It's the reason he gave the off hand comment.
My favorite quote from a UL fan on Twitter: "Only thing I trust about Satterfield is running on first down."
For the record, I was not one who bitched about that tendency because more often than not it paid off in the long run. But, he won eventually. He'll need to that at UL to get past this.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
I agree the public comment was not smart but how can the AD or anyone get mad at him for listening to SC and doing the interview? I doubt he expected to get the job and wanted to see what the chances were before he left. People in other job fields go on an interview and see what the chances are before they say anything to their boss all the time. Louisville has to know that an SEC job which is half the distance from home and pay more would get his interest.hapapp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:28 pmIt's not the off hand comment. How would people on this board, including those that have already commented, have reacted if we had a coach that did what he just did?

Re: Satt Done at UL?
I should go back in the archives to find my post which suggested that Satt take the gig, get fired after 3 years, pocket like $15m then return to Boone and coach App for 20 years. He could do it for $1 per year and still be comfortable the rest of his life.

Yeah, good luck with recruiting when he’s just told the world he wants out of there asap. He just gave opposition recruiters the best present there is.Tbatchelor1977 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:07 pmIf he secures a QB that can pass as well as run. All will be good at UL. Re: Satt Done at UL?
Did I read that he asked for a raise? In the middle of a 3 win season? Was he trying to use the USC interview as leverage? Not surprised at a lot of the comments. The fans by and large want him gone.
