There will be NO "search" - it's got to be one of the "F-ing Family" - would you want to be the guy from somewhere else no matter what you had accomplished to take over this delusional fan base? - He wouldn't have a chance - Hell, all you had to do was listen and read after a hole lose and it was "Roy can't coach", "Roy chokes", on and on and on --- Being from the family doesn't leave many options - Miller from UNCG (man, I think he would be way over his head) Hubert who has no head-coaching experience but could handle the other parts well I think - and Haase who coached there but never played there (not sure they would go that route until Roy really pushed it)

Agreed... “no search”. Davis didn’t leave that ESPN job several years ago to come home and be relegated to an assistant for life. He’s been groomed from the get-go. I also think the other assistants will still be there as well. They’ve never had to look out the window on this one.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 11:42 amThere will be NO "search" - it's got to be one of the "F-ing Family" - would you want to be the guy from somewhere else no matter what you had accomplished to take over this delusional fan base? - He wouldn't have a chance - Hell, all you had to do was listen and read after a hole lose and it was "Roy can't coach", "Roy chokes", on and on and on --- Being from the family doesn't leave many options - Miller from UNCG (man, I think he would be way over his head) Hubert who has no head-coaching experience but could handle the other parts well I think - and Haase who coached there but never played there (not sure they would go that route until Roy really pushed it)

Not that I think UNC would look toward Bill Self, nor would he be interested in Carolina.... But I had to chuckle at the fact Roy retired one day, and Kansas gave Self a lifetime contract the next. I could just hear the KU admin and fan base, “No way! Not again!?!?” Lol

Self has a lot of baggage now - of course, just like unc, they did nothing wrong -

Re: Roy Williams Retiring
The best part of the Kansas contract is the clause that they can not fire him for anything pertaining to the FBI probe(even though he was one of the main players). Even if the NCAA or Big12 suspend him he is due half of his salary. I believe Bill Self is gunning for Ric Flair's self proclaimed title "Dirtiest Player in The Game".booneboy92 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 12:21 pmNot that I think UNC would look toward Bill Self, nor would he be interested in Carolina.... AD Cunningham does not like the ‘family’ atmosphere, I believe he will go outside even if it means he will likely lose his job.

I truly believe (regardless of what Bubba thinks and says) he has very little say so in this hire.

Yeah, kinda like when Butch Davis was hired years ago. The Rams Club basically tied, gagged and locked the AD up in the closet!

Re: Roy Williams Retiring
I worked a camp that Coach Williams ran years ago. He treated everyone like kings. I admire what he has accomplished.
I’m not fond of the Carolina fan base, but I like Coach Williams and hope he has a great retirement. He is a mountain boy at heart.
