I read were Ruffin McNeill is going into the ECU Hall of Fame. Too lazy to post the link, but it is easy to find. He is mentioned every now and then on YC so thought it worth posting.

Also heard during the State/Clemson game that he's on staff at State as a Special Assistant to the Head Coach. I wasn't aware of that.

His Wikipedia page is pretty up to date it seems.

So they fired him and then put him in the HOF? I mean, he's very deserving but is that not a strange turn of events?

I think it’s their way of acknowledging they royally effed up that whole decision.

According to a couple EZU fans I know, he's going in as a player more so than coach... Obviously his coaching years hold merit as well, but it's more of his contributions as a player getting him in.
