Interesting. When I noted the kid was from California (long way from The Ville), I was like he will decommit at some point...but then...Clarkson's father, noted quarterback tutor Steve Clarkson, paid to put up the billboards around Louisville to show how serious they are about their commitment to the school and what they hope to help build there.

"We wanted to show that we're not doing this to decommit," Steve Clarkson said. "We're getting married, that's basically what we're saying."

Good for Satt

Always pulling for Satterfield, but a third straight losing record season and he might not be at Louisville to see this kid play.

Wouldn't it depend on the amount, if there is one, of the buyout clause?

If this recruit brings others with him Satt will be fine. The kid is coming because of coach, even the louie loonies wouldn’t fire him with that potential.

They were willing to let Chris Mack go for a $12 million dollar buy out. They negotiated it down to $4.8 million. I believe Satterfield has less than a $12 million buy out.

Chris had three winning seasons. Didn't make the tournament last year, had a losing record this year, but a mid season fire I thought was a little tough, especially since teams can always make a late season run and get into the tournament.

I just can't see their "People that matter" tolerating another losing season in football. I also don't think a program would keep a coach just because of the potential a 4 star QB MIGHT carry.

I wish Satterfield the best of course. I don't want the man to lose his job, just recognizing the impatience of some programs.

There have been some serious problems with Louisville basketball in the last year or so - see Dino Guadio

Exactly. For Mack, it was more than just on the court performance.

But, Louisville has a fairly delusional fan base, so I do agree another subpar season for Satt and he could be out the door.

Landing a highly-ranked recruit like this sends a message to other recruits. That his father is a well-known QB coach also sends a message of confidence in Satterfield. Both of which are extremely positive for the program.

I am hopeful that Satt will learn from his past mistakes and turn things around in Louisville. He is (and always will be) a Mountaineer, and I want to see him succeed.
